Nice work Snodart ! Wow !
Thanks John. It took me 4 years in the navy, 2 years as a fire fighter, and 4 years of art school to find my true love for filmmaking. There is much to do.

I am planning on getting autodesk sketchbook pro tonight, so I will be able to play too.

Some good work all. Looking forward to more!

Sketchbook Pro came with the book Learning Maya 7. Never actually played with it before, it's pretty cool.

Here's some stuff from tonight, I'm not a big fan- but I'm trying to do something every day.

:smiley_up I always see people using the smudge tool in their digital paintings, so I figured I'd start getting used to it. Kinda funky.

Some every day is the key. It's like photography... you can take 100 pictures before one hits.

Man I'm glad you started this thread. I missed drawing. It makes me slow down a little (which isn't easy for me). I got a hold of sketchbook pro tonight and drew one of the images in Hogarth's Dynamic Figure Drawing book. I'm still getting accustomed to using the tablet, but good times.

Wow snodart, that looks great. I went to get that book last night, but they didn't have it at Borders. I'll check Barnes and Noble today.

I totally forgot to comment on these.

1. The shading is really nice, I dig the texture on the shirt.
2. This one is cool, I dig the style. Were you using reference?
3. Pretty cool, I think you could make it more interesting with more details.

Meh...

I suck at drawing, every time I try something, especially with a Wacom, it comes out looking like a total noob...

- Mikko ... didn't use a Wacom for that, but did actully re-sketch most of it.

Well thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. On the second one, I didnt use a reference. Sometimes I just draw and re draw the shape of the head until its randomly good, then base the proportions for the rest of the body off that...I think it yields a little more of a sketchy feel. Your work is looking really good to TC, thanks for starting this!
