Yeah, definitely a great piece. When you graduate, definitely check out Full Sail in your area...I noticed your piece was a "In Association with Full Sail Films" which is pretty cool as is but regardless, you have amazing talent for a 16 year old.

Nice work, I like the fact you seem dedicated and ready to learn more. Just the effort to make this shows you have heart. I thought the video was great! You sold me on your dedication and ambition. I can already tell your skate videos will not be the same old same old. Your promo piece I just watched gave me the feeling yours (skate videos) will be creative and unique. Best of luck, and keep us updated with your progression. What schools are you looking at?

im not looking into schools right now, not sure if its the way to go becuase as far as im concerned, in this bussiness it isn't what you know.. its WHO you know. its all about connections. I will be looking into schools though, but i still have 2 years to decide. I just wanna get out there and do my best and be satisfied with my work. thanks for the comments

true about it's "who you know", but after that you still need to know the "what you know" part. Learn as much as you can, because the people who you know will be giving you the shoe in on thier name. No room to mess up. School is never a bad idea. Also remember you can learn, make contacts, and have lots of resources available in college. Good luck and you have a good amount of time ahead of you.

As far as the 'connections' thing goes, that can be a plus for going to film school or studying it anyway. Not that you'll get 'connected' but that you'll be working on projects with people you might not meet otherwise.

Film / video is, by nature, a collaborative effort and it can make for strange but creative partners-in-crme. Some of the most talented people I worked with at school were people I never would've hung out with or met if it weren't for being in the same class at the same time.

Not that you have to make friends or anything. To be honest, we didn't always get along but they sure could pull focus / run sound / light / whatever. Sounds silly but my friends usually didn't pan out on-location. Your classmates can make your projects look better because they'll want you to do the same for them (hopefully).

Best of luck.....

chris it is acually great to see that your friends are so into what you are doing. I think thats the best thing right there. It is amazing how they are so very motivated for you. Im sure u appreciate that. On my side.. well im alone in the film world save for the 1 or 2 friends. haha.

As for the discussion of film school: I'm 22yrs old and doing free-lance or indie film-making here in South Africa for about 3 months with my own camera and about 1 and a half years of editing in my bedroom. I have no formal training from film school, and i dont plan to go to film school. I am in my 3rd year of Architecture and have always had a creative mind for visual art as I see you do too. I may have only been in the industry officially now for 4 months after recently being contracted to MTV base in London from South Africa, but I can truelly say that in this industry (fom my first-hand experience) it is all about 'PORTFOLIO' and not where you have studied.

good luck with all u do. and film school will definitely teach you many things i dont even know yet! so u cant go wrong there, just stay creative man!
