1080 25p capture 576 component out?

If you are capturing to the p2 card in 1080i 25p and outputting through the component out, the settings on select are either 720p - 1080i - 576i (pal model, of course). Are the 1080 and 576 outputting interlaced or progressive if I'm capturing to the 1080i 25p?

The 1080 signal and the 576 signal are always output as interlaced. The 10880/25p and the 576/25p are progressive footage carried within an interlaced transport.
 
So could I capture high def 1080i 25p to the cards while streaming 576 25p through the component outputs to a mac/blackmagic component input and capture as an uncompressed 10bit standard def?

If not, what is the best workflow to have 1: A HD master and 2: An uncompressed SD downconvert?

Interesting.

Would this method give you a better quality standard def file than capturing to the p2 in 1080/25p then down converting inside an NLE to a standard def 10bit uncompressed?
