DP Reel vs. Editing Reel - which do you like better? (feedback welcomed)

Here is my videography reel http://davidpossien.dvxhost.com/dp_reel.mp4 Everything was shot with either a xl2 or pd-150. My dvx footage hasn't made it into the reel yet.. considering i just got a dvx a couple weeks ago....but everything i've shot with it looks freakin awesome. I will post another cut with the dvx footage in a week... once i finish editing my first dvx short.

Here is my editing/animation reel http://davidpossien.dvxhost.com/editing_reel.mov

Please let me know what you think and what I can do to make it better other than adding ridiculously awesome looking dvx footage (what can I say? I'm in love...).

Thanks guys

-Dave

I think watching dp footage on youtube is almost pointless because the compression is so bad. I would suggest you host it elsewhere.

Chris

p.s. Also, this is posted in the wrong forum.

not sure what the BEEF with youtube is.

Quite frankly, im not a moron when it comes to video and yes quality is concidered when i watch someones video, but the compression on youtube is no where bad enough to turn me away from watching something..

wussup guys?

The reason why I ask which is better is because I'm trying to get a feel for which side of the industry I should more strongly pursue... I like shooting more..but finding paying gigs seem to be harder to find IMO.

Agree with the previous comments. The editing/animation reel is MUCH stronger.

Editing was better. Question though, how did you get the shot for Toyota where it appears like the camera is locked with the car (while the car is driving in the city), but the entire front end of the car is in the frame?

Was in the editing reel and I've just always been curious how that shot id done.

I didn't shoot any of that footage for toyota. It was all stock. But to answer your question if you look closely you can see a smigin of a black bar that connects a camera rig to the undercarriage of the car. (it should have been cropped out, tilted up, or composited out) Yes it was in the editing reel.
