how do you fold those stupid reflector boards?

 :cheesy:

I'm sorry, maybe it's because I didn't sleep enough last night, but that question just really makes me laugh.

This has to be one of the best questions ever asked on DVXuser.

I suck at folding those things too, so I feel your pain. Good luck with it!

lol, just cut it in half

I am so tired that I am actually laughing out loud at that....wow. Anyway, back on topic, it's kind of a double twist type action to fold those things out....and back in

Grab the sides of it and twist your hands in opposing directings while bringing your hands closer together (all while standing on one leg and barking like a dog).

the first time i opened one of the round reflectors i smacked myself in the face with it. It popped open so fast it broke the sound barrier.
Grab it like you are ringing out a towel and twist, it will collapse when it hits the right spot.

I just know the DoP I was working with last week waited for everyone to leave the room before he tried folding his 6ft bluescreen!

lol i had to look up this thread myself :D

Folding that confounded PhotoFlex FlexDrop II bluescreen was one of the most annoying phases of my life. I finally, after much web searching, found the secret magic oh-we-left-that-part-out-of-the-instructions bit, the missing tidbit that made everything work properly (which is that as you hold the thing in front of you at arms' length, preparing for that first dreaded fold, you have to bend the spring steel at the center of the top piece up to make it perpendicular to the ground). If you do that, it folds beautifully and instantly. If you don't do that, you're doomed.... dooooomed...

For the round ones: Fold opposite edges together so it looks like a taco. Hold the edges with one hand. Put one tip of the taco against the floor. With the other hand, pull the upper tip of the taco toward the tip that's on the floor, curving in the OPPOSITE direction of the first taco fold. when the two taco tips start to overlap, keep letting them overlap, bending until it folds flat.

This doom of which he speaks is TRUE!

I have the best time showing off when I take my photoflex oval reflector from a new PA and easily fold it before their very eyes. If you think the discs are annoying the ovals are worse.

Last week I was at the beach and picked up another folding disc item to add to the arsenal: a pop-up CABANA!

It's a 3-sided tent (Kind of like this one, but mine was only $20) that folds into a disc the size of my reflectors. Folding that sucker up is even a bigger treat! I wonder what other nifty items are made that fold into discs for easy transport...

It sounds like it's broken, pm me and I'll take if off your hands... fo free.

.. it's a trap!

You obviously missed my refective post on reflectors:

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=63694

Grab the CORNERS not the sides, that's the mistake I made over and over and
over and over and over and over and over... moving on now, grab the CORNERS
and fold them up, like a taco.

Hold the two corners together with one hand as you reach toward your right
to fold that open corner toward you. The reflector will bend onto itself.

Read the thread, it's enlighting.
