Weird Sony HDR-HC3 power problem

The camera runs fine on battery power, but when I plug in the AC power adapter, the camera shuts off. I've never had this happen before.

Any ideas?
 
Nope, nothing happens. I switch it to "On" but it won't come on until I unplug the power and run on the battery.
 
Try calling Sony's tech support, because that does indeed sound a bit unusual. Try to check all connections, just in case. Sometimes I don't put the powercord into the AC adaptor all the way in, and it won't run right.
