IDX v-mounts batteries on Marshall

Is anyone out there using the IDX batteries on their Marshall monitor? I know a lot of people are getting the nebtek conversion done, and I'll probably head that way, but I was curious as to people's experience with the IDX batteries.

If any of you use the IDX batteries could you please let me know how long of a run time you are getting off of your batteries, and whether or not you are using the E-7 or E-10 size. I asked someone the other day how long the IDX would power the thing and he said something like 2.5 hours (and that was with the high capacity E-10!) I can't believe that number. That would mean a Panny battery with the nebtek conversion would last LONGER, and that just doesn't really make sense to me.

I don't have the Marshall, however I do use IDX E-10 batts on my Steadicam. And when powereing just the 7" LCD monitor and frameline generator circuit (somewhere similar to a 7" mashall I belive) it'll run for 7.5hours.

Based on the data on the Marshall site clamining 4-6hrs on a 50WH batt, for their 7", it matches that a 73WH E10 should run about 7 hours.

I use Endura 10's (came with my steadicam) with my Marshall and have had no problems with battery life. I haven't timed it myself, by I'm guessing around 5-6 hours of continuous usage. It's a great combination, I recommend it.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm back to thinking that I'm going with v-mount batteries. Someone on the forum turned me onto the batteries4broadcast.com batteries, which seem a steal of a deal. Even if they didn't last quite as long as the IDX, it still almost seems worth it.

Hi Brian- That was probably me...I recommend them all the time, at the price/quality you can't go wrong (and, of course they have both v-mount and gold mount options). I use their v-mount 8Ah/120Wh batteries for my Flyer.

I have not had them on thre long enough to get a feel for duration (time), but I also use them to power my Panasonic BT-LH1700W monitor in the field when AC power is not available or at a premium. I just ordered their d-tap to XLR accessory cord, plugged it in and wa-laa! $35 solution (the cord, PT-C20X), I just velcro the battery to the back of the monitor stand and press the button.

I get 3-4hrs with my Panny batts on the nebtek converted marshall, and it's always nice to have extra batts when you dont use the monitor.. If you can afford to spend $250 on 1 batt, and $350 on a charger, go for it.. or spend the xtra $250, and get three panny batts.. I'm about to invest in the 4 bank charger.. I just dont have any more friggin money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it was you then Thanks dregenthal! I just order some batteries from batteries4broadcast. They'll get here next week. I can't wait. That place is great. Such good prices!
