I am at Nice Shoes studio in NYC. this place is friggin christmas! I'm sitting infront of a 2K Da Vinci machine.

this place is AMAZING. they are buying us huge steak dinners..... they have free drinks!!!!!! I love my job.

Very Cool, A steak dinner and free drinks I wouldn't tell that to Aram, He might be a little pissed, I would just tell him it was damp and dingey. And all you got were some salt crackers.. j/k
 
Just tell him they totally overcooked your steak. And the garlic mash wasn't really that good.

Yeah No pain will be the best thing. But a Steak free drinks and most of all the Da Vinci 2K could be a close second. So I would brake it to him slowly.

What is the spot you guys are working on if you can say.
 
BPR parts. a small mom and pop Appliance parts company.

Their son is the Editor of a major Ad ajency, so he hired us to shoot a commercial.

But now hes taking it too a whole new level.


My God what that guy did with SGpro footage........ I swear it looks like 35mm film now. plusi got to see the new SONY 30" CRT 1080i HD monitor... ( EFFING DROOL)

and i have never seen DVX footage look as awesome as it has on that monitor.

He was like tweaking selective parts of the picture. makin the nice footage, succulent...... because thats the only word tht can fully describe what this guy did to our work. i sat there like a little kid stating at the screen while he made our work look like polished gold. for 800$ an hour, its WORTH EVERY EFFING PENNY.

EVERY SINGLE ONE.

if i shot somethign worth keeping, i would now budget in professional CCing time. i would work on DVX as opposed to HD, if it ment saving the 3-5G's neccesary to include it in the process.

Itsreally that importnt i have learned.
 
so its dvx footage? you've defintly gotta post what some DVX footage looks like after going through the 2k process. i'm jealous i wanna learn
 
in nashville there are only 2-3 film fransfer places.
i went there a few months ago to color correct some 16mm footage on a da vinci and it was really amazing stuff.
student rate: 160/hour
regular: 350/hour

i'd love to be able to have them work with some of my video footage.
 
You wanna know how they get free drinks? When people are too amazed by the DaVincis or such, they melt. And they use the puddles of molten people for drinks.
 
I'm creating a list of houses where they treat you like a rock star. Was at Hum Studio's 2 years ago in Santa Monica...

AMAZING people and I was god for a day!

Come to the Threeboys Productions facility and you'll get a nice glass of scotch, but you've got to change a diaper for that.
