no continuity, your joking right? please elaborate... and also name a few movies that weren't boring to you "maverickstunts." I'm interested to know your "level" of entertainment. Oh wait your a stuntman possibly, nevermind...
Well my level of expertise is probably greater than you might think, me being a stuntman and all.

I know most, if not all of the stuntmen and women that worked on this piece of dog crap.
You must be easily entertained, or maybe your the target demographic of 14 -18 year old male.

It was a 2 and 1/2 hour trailer for the third movie.

The effects were cool.
The "Davy Jones " crew effects were done well.
What exactly was the point of a 3 man swordfight? And although it was well done, somebody should have died.
Who really thinks that when you dive into water with your swashbuckling boots on that you can swim to shore.

Does anyone ever get tired of Keith Richards on drugs?

all in all, I would have preferred to go to Disneyland and take the ride, less time spent.

I did like the film, but it was hella long. Let's bring these epics back down to 90-100 minutes. This is getting out of hand.

Personally, I really like the fact that films are getting longer. If they really have that much to say then let them. Of course, you could have a 2 and a half hour film full of nothing, and that would be horrible. But if the film is entertaining (which I thought Dead Man's Chest was) I don't mind the length at all.

It doesn't matter if she can act. Look at her. It was much the same for "Into the Blue". Movie was junk, but I had to stay and watch Jessica Alba walk away......

she can act. i mean for a 20 year old actress she can light up the screen better than most 30 something and 40 somethings. I like her versitility from this to other period pieces to domino.... I think she can be a great actress. I like to she her in more modren pieces though.

Only problem with shortening movies down is that it keeps truly epic storytelling from being told, plus, not every movie is three hours long. This one was two and a half hours right? Not bad for a Friday/Saturday night, but I can see where the earlier shows could be a hassle. Also, there's a lot more two or less hour trash than there are successful three hour epics. It's just a weird time in Hollywood I suppose.

If we're talking something like Lawrence of Arabia or even Lord of the Rings, then I fully agree. But for a summer popcorn flick I think 2 1/2 hours is a bit long. It sure felt like it dragged in places. I'll meet you half way though and change my ideal running time to 2 hours.

Besides, since they've split this story into two movies anyway, they had plenty of time to tell it and could have trimmed some fat. :)

hey Rich I got a question...

why wasnt the cracken not visible when it first attack a ship.... it justs look funny maybe the choice of shot made it off.

i dunno.

i think the goal was to make it mysterious. like, what the hell was that? not show it.

gore really liked the idea of seeing a boat get kinda plucked into the ocean.

Saw this with 300 screaming kids and their poor parents last night. Way too long. Way, way too long.

My fanboy-grade enthusiasm for anything POTC was completely supressed by the time Jone's chest was finally unearthed at the 105 minute (or so, but who's counting?) mark.

As has been stated before, this is a merely a movie franchise, of the highest popcorn and Red Vines order, based on the best dark ride ever created. It all comes back to that for me, so seeing the Blue Bayou swamp set was a peak moment.

Depp is terrific and, though not nearly as fun to look at as in the picture above, Ms. Knightly can hold her own. Bloom is wallpaper and too much attention, conflict and certainly footage was given over to the Davey Jones rogue-gallery of villians.

Oh, that was Will's fahshah? WHO CARES?

Let us give the poorly realized (and acted) Creole Harris Witchdoctor character another fifteen minutes of valuable screentime! Or perhaps we should work in a third and forth downhill-apparatus-rolling-fight sequence?

As much as I hate to say it, this movie was a disappointment of Attack of the Clones proportion. It's fun to watch Depp stagger through another POTC installment, but we don't even really get to do that very much, do we?

Lame, lame lame!

in short, definitely.

i havent seen a movie keira's been in that i didnt enjoy her performance (pirates 1 & 2, l.actually, k.arthur, jacket, p&p, and domino). and i agreed 100% with vanity fair this year to pick her, scarlett johanssen, and rachel mcadams for that cover (even though rachel bailed). i think theyre the best bets for the future of hollywood.

also totally agree with overlandfilms - i would have liked to see more of the bayou too! im sure well get that though in part 3 (which will probably be 4 hours long).

its strange for sure. not seeing tenticles...when in later scenes it needs tenticles o do what it does...

never been a big fan of that shot. would have been cooler/interesting if it started to happen on deck...and you cut to a low angle looking up at the hull/mast of the boat and seeing it crumple and big splashes take out frame or something.

its still cool to see a boat get taken out like that....
