I laughed! I cried! (from laughing so hard). That was magic....you've nailed the tone.

"Are you breaking with me" might be lame if it wasn't followed by "It was a one stand, there's nothing to break up". Funny stuff, and sets up the following power shift between the characters nicely. Your leading lady really has something, and props to you (or whoever wrote it) for creating such a meaty female character.

I hope someone throws good money at you. Looking forward to seeing more.

Cool someone who gets it! This ain't your parents Oldsmobile!

Oh and yes this film is completed I am cuttiing right now. Linking and syncing sound to film clips really sux BTW. :)

I ran sound into the camera as backup but it's not as well controlled volume wise so it's all coming off the dat. Killing channels 3 & 4 which are the onboard mics really sux too. I wish there was a way to have turned that off.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to check out the clip. It sure is nice to have a community of peers to bounce stuff off of.

I thought the editing was top notch too...very slick (it seems petty to mention it but the repetition shots at 1:34 and 1:39 pulled me out for a moment).

Between 30s and 1:30 you used a few ambient sound effects which worked well. Did you create these yourself or can they be bought online?

whoo haaa...someones saying americans like violence..!

Looks like a great movie, heavy pictures, in any sence..looking forward to see more..!

p.s.what happened in your childhood?

Yeah, I could see how that bit might be too much. I knew I was taking a risk when I did it.

The ambient sounds were created mucking about with reason and protools. Reverb and time shift via sampler keys.

My childhood is off limits!

Makes me wonder where we're going from here.:(

In times of high stress, war and anxiety film audiences tend to go for extreme horror. Hence the horror surge in the early 70's as the Vietnam war ground on. The 80's had the COLD WAR. The 90's were dot.com halcyon days and resulted in weak horror demand. Film reflects the world it does not create it.

Pascal-
My thought was this. If I am going to make a bloodfest the I was going to pull out all the stops. You know "In walking just walk. In sitting just sit. Above all, don't wobble." I'm glad you can appreciate the art even though you don't appreciate the subject.

"Film reflects the world it does not create it."

The sole responsibility for the content of any film is with the filmmaker. It sounds like you're passing the buck with this line.

"I'm glad you can appreciate the art even though you don't appreciate the subject."

It's kind of like dressing a pig in a gorgeous gown. It may take a great amount of skill to dress the pig, you may even pause to admire the gown, but in the end, it's just a pig in a gown. :)

(This analogy is for illustrative purposes only and is not intended to be taken literally.)

I'm not passing the buck brother, I am influenced by the world too. Just because you don't like this subject matter doesn't make it bad or a pig. Just something you don't like. Lucky for all of us there are films for all tastes. Ironically though it was an actual pigs head used in the clips. Bought it at the Mexican market. Perfect for skull drilling! What a wonderful world indeed.

And I would like to add a good friend of mine won two Emmy's for dressing a dog. So appreciation of art can be rewardiing dispite the context.

By the same token, just because someone says it's art, that doesn't make it so.

Wasn't the dog in an educational kid's program?

again, nice use of the hvx+m2. a little on the gory side as stated in previous posts, but it looks like the gore was done well.

You know, I don't like those kinds of movies, but it was nothing against you. As I said, it looks really great.
And I just saw that you are from Texas, and just recently, I recorded "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" :) I have never seen it, just the glimpse that is in the film "The 'burbs" with Tom Hanks, but in our TV guide, it had a rating of four out of four stars. I will have a look at it, but stop watching it, if I don't support it.

If it's the original... you will be really freaked out. Not much gore but great implied gore and tone.

As for me. I fully expect people to walk out of the screening in disgust and protest. If I am really lucky I will get a someone to faint! I don' t take it personal. This is a film that should cause some reactions. Good or bad is better than indifferent.

Tell you the truth, it could have been even gorier. Distribs want you to go for the extreme. They'll dial it back if they need to. Hopefully you have nudity in it as well (from a sales standpoint that is...)

The acting did not look quite professional in some of the clips. It takes a good actor to play against type and make a "psycho" not look cliche...

The setups and lighting looked very good. Amazing the value that dolly shots ad...

You could even have added some more "Rob Zombie-style" effects, with filters, masks, etc.

Good luck. Shop it in LA at a film mart you could get a buyer.

anybody who says that the lines are cliché, obviously have never been really in love. that was intense and the visuals were vivid and beautiful in their own sick way. awesome job man.
