Tomorrow may be my last day to live...

haha. Yeah they say im too young to have this so it must be genetic. I told them I used to play basketball until I literally couldnt walk the next day and still play again that day and for every day after. I also told them I used to race semi pro mountain bike but took some serious abuse but they said they still wouldnt be this bad yet. The x-rays look like someone took a chain saw to my hip bones and tore them up when they are supposed to be smooth.

Just sent you an email, but in case you don't get it, I wanted to let you know that bilateral hip replacement is a safe and effective procedure. Serious complications are extremely rare. You should feel like a whole new person when you're finished with your physical therapy regime.

Don't look at it as terrifying so much as a whole new lease on life ... and you're going to be part bionic soon. How cool is that?

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery so you can get to work on that Horrorfest entry of yours...

"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. Aram Bauman will be that man. Better than he was before. Better. Stronger. Faster"

Good luck man. I'll definitely say a prayer for you. No need to worry, you'll come out of this better than ever. Your a tough SOB and I know you'll be surfing with your kids in no time. And trying that kama sutra position.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

If you need any help while your incapacitated (anything but kama sutra related help) let me know and I'll be there.

Good luck,
Alex

Many ORs now have camera set-ups for every case. I have a videotape of my shoulder surgery from a few years back, but nobody'll watch it with me.

*crosses fingers*

Beeing a bit of a Theater techie, I normally don't wish people good luck. But I'm not sure "Break a leg" is appropriate in this case. So, good luck! :)

Hope all goes well and have a speedy recovery. We look forward to hearing all about it.

Thanks everyone, thanks for contacting me Hairy. It helped a lot.
Im actually going to try to shoot this for TV360. Im going to their office after work for a pre-op interview shoot and maybe get some B-Roll after but I contacted the hospital about having a camera in there and just waiting on the verdict.
Alex, you sexy beast, I was saving the Kama or Karma sutra for you.
I cant wait to see if the rare earth magnets will stick to my leg afterwards. I want to invent a new type of magnetic belt for hip peeps if it does. The only problem is that if i accidentally magnitize the hips, would I point north all the time?

I'm not sure I wanna contemplate which specific portion of your anatomy you're referring to here. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Safe surgery. Good luck.

You have more positive waves coming your way than anyone around here lately. Sgt. Oddball would be proud.

No but your LCD screen will flip upside down.

Goodluck with this and your recovery.

My grandma had plastic hips, both knees, and elbow, and they just removed all the joints in her toes.

We called her the bionic grandma ... she would take my sister and me to the mall and sit in the car and read her bible or reader's digest so that she didn't half to walk around in the mall ... we had a family joke not to take too long while she was waiting like that because with all that plastic "Memaw might melt and get stuck like that."

Anyway, you will be bionic now, and after a tough road of recovery you won't hurt anymore. Sorry you have to go down that path to get to that destination, but I have faith that you will get there.

Good luck, my thoughts are with you.

Jack

Good Luck Aram, Everything will go smoth, and you'll be back on here all pain killered up in no time. Should make for some fun posts
Oh yes... pleeeasse post when you are stoned!

especially some rhymes!

BTW we have an extra laptop with airport if you need to borrow it in the hospital or afterwards (I think you only have ridiculously powerful towers which are hard to use in bed)

Not to make light of your situation, but we should all live each day as if "Tomorrow Might Be My Last Day To Live".

This thread is a good reminder of that credo we should all live by!

Amen brother.
I plan to live it up again and have the best time. I have felt like a useless zombie for a while now. Thanks for the offer Jack but im confiscating Adinas laptop and PSP which should hold me over. I plan to try to start writing my feature idea so I dont need much even though its a big Dell 9100.
