I posted the rough cut of this video awhile ago but I just finished the final cut so I wanted to put it back up to see what everyone though. We shot this in NYC with hardly any budget and a very small 4 man crew.

Our Gear consisted of a HVX200, Mac Power Book, lacie Hard drive, bounce board, and a boom box, 15 passenger van and a AC adaptor for running power in the van.

We drove from Boston to NYC with a few locations in mind but nothin solid. We just did alot of it on the fly.
The whole video was shot in 6 hours.

It was shot 720p/24p

Hi,

Wish I could see these videos, but for whatever reason, I run windows, and .mov files won't play. Usually I get sound but no picture, but this time the little play thing at the bottom of the screen moves, but no sound or picture. Any body got any ideas?

Thanks,

Bird

nice work. Many well framed shots. My only suggestion would be to zoom in. There's a lot of good DOF in your wide shots, plus you move the camera a lot, which adds good DOF and energy to your wide shots. But zooming in (not just bring the camera closer to the object, but zooming in) can add an extra pizaz and variety to your shots.

For example. Zoom in on the lead guitarist and have drumsticks beating in the foreground. The screen would be loaded with energy.

Anyway, just my two cents. Great job.

Really good work. I like it, it is simple and I just love the black and white. Gose to show how good this camera can be for a no budget situation. You can turn out a quilty product and even if you don't have the 5 ton grip truck. Good Job, And I love that shot with the bridge.

Looks awesome dude. I really like the black and white and i think the deep focus and wide angles work great with it. The textures on the buildings and the dock look awesome. Good locations, the city as a back drop... classy. You don't wanna lose all that.

Effin' A. Kicked Ass.

B & W really covers up the visual flaws of 1/3 chips. That plus quick editing...

Brooklyn (?) Bridge shots are great.

My only suggestion, it needed one more "plot thread", as in one more thread to keep track of during the video.

You currently have

- The singer walking and singing

- The Band playing

I think it needs one more plot element. to be intercut with the others....such as the band pulling old car out of river or something like that...

You could still shoot something and drop it in.

carry on!

Stop screwing around with PCs. They suck.

Thank you for the comments. The whole video was based on that concept. As far as zommed in shots, I didn't want to do that bt I thought about it. I wanted it to be all wide.

That is one tight ass vidoe dude. Nice job.

Footage of riots' and/or live footage would serve this well

IMO

Great job !

John that is a really good idea some footage of rioters and police in full riot gear would kick ass. I wounder if there is any good cheap stock footage out there.

John,
Thanks a lot. The only thing is that the riot footage would not fit what the song is about. It is a song about the singer and breakup beleive it or not.
I really hate stock footage videos. I just wanted to do a simple performance video with a small story line.

I am going to shoot a short this September with the HVX and primes. I love this camera!
