Some people remember a post I made in the cinematography section here, blabbing about this job. For those who missed it:

Now, it´s finally ready. Don´t tell anyone in Brazil I let this slide, because the official premiere is Thursday the 13th, on MTV Brazil. :)

Courtesy of DVXHost, I now have a server to post this!

so here´s the direct link to the file. Please right click and save as:

I´d love to hear some of your opinions, as I think it turned out really nice!

Cheers!

hey really cool.
not over-conceptualized.
i liked it.
i just kept waiting for the guy to sit down at the drum set and start jamming out.
overall it has a good and clean look.

killer! what time is the premiere? i´ll watch it.

i agree with franck. i liked the soft colors. fantastic art direction too!

talk about the CC. the scenes on the apartment and the videos that were on tv.

Dude that looked great!

Can you give some info about what camera settings you used and if/what post correction you added. Spectacular looking video.

CCwasn´t actually much intense. All done in Final Cut Pro. A lot of it was just matching shots through the same sequence. What I did in most shots was to bring the levels down a little since I wanted the video to look slightly underexposed. And crush the blacks, when they weren´t low enough.

Frank, if he he started to jam, it would rock! Great Idea! Too bad I was only cinematographer for this. Art direction was intense, as you realize, and most of the time I was just trying to make sense of all that visual pollution! The M2 helped a lot in this aspect!

Gumonstro, the TV shots are true TV shots! I generated a VHS of the material, shot my TV at home with my dvx, did a mask in AE and pasted it over the shot of the red TV (That set doesn´t work, by the way...) (I appear in 8 frames of the video, too. In the television cop show, I play the thief!). It premieres at that show called MTV Lab. I think it´s 8:30 PM, but could be 8:00PM.

My Camera settings changed throughout in color, but it was mostly plain, with a little bit of detail (sharpness), maybe +3. Other than that, I think it was straight F6, color matrix normal, gamma cinelike_D.

Thanks for waching, and for your kind words!

Hey taubkin!

That is one of the best music videos I've seen! I would compare it to the likes of Radiohead's "Just" music video:

This piece is one of those rare journey's someone take's without leaving their house! Your role behind the camera really captured that! Kudos!

I liked it so much I watched it twice in a row! :)

Good luck & I'm looking forward to seeing more work from you in the future!
