Hey all,

Those of you that have purchased the DVXUser batteries, what kind of delivery time could I expect if I ordered tonight (Thursday) as it appears they would ship out tomorrow (Friday)?

I have a wedding in one week, on the 15th (my first with my Bs), and I don't have enough juice.

Thanks for the input.

sincerely,

ian

I would not count on them to get there if you have a wedding next week- make sure you have backups. The only way to really find out is to PM Jarred and ask him when he can get them to you.

I bought 2 and they came in just over a week. I love these batteries, I did a shoot on a cruise with 4 other guys who had DVX's and they were very jelous of how my 2 batteries would last me all day.

Thanks for the feedback folks.

I pm'd Jarred and he'll do his best to get them to me by next Friday. I guess that's the best I can hope for....that and make sure there are outlets so I can AC my one cam if I need to.

*sigh* The life of an unprepared man...say. That sounds like a short film.

Everybody. Step back from the concept. It's mine!

hmmm. Is "unprepared" actually a word?

Battery?

Battery?

Can you all tell me where I can find the batteries that you are referencing?

Thanks.

My only complaint is that the contacts aren't nearly the quality of Panasonic's. Meaning that a slight Midwest breeze will knock the contacts out of place and kill the power to the camera.

Nothing a little piece of velcro for leverage on the battery can't fix, though.

Woa...thats weird I have run mine into the ground on numerous jobs all over creation and never once lost power die to a loose connection.

Happily I have never had a connection problem with mine, one thing that did happen on the day I received my 2 batteries is I droped on and the case cracked open. It was interesting to see the internals of the battery with the individual cells. I glued it up with some crazy glue and I have never had a problem with it.

I just got my two from them.. and really appreciated the key chain and lanyard.. charging now..

Well I shot a wedding last friday with one of the DVX batteries.. and (three tapes + lot's of pause time) then I shot a car show 1 tape pls review time and then I had to change batteries to my second DVX batt. SO on my first one I got approx 5- 5.5 hours use out of it. The panasoinic batteries cost approx 240.00 cdn ea - up here for the same type - so.. they were worth buying - I recommend them.

I'm impressed. Shot a shoot the other night on about three/fourth of the battery. It lasted about three hours or more before it gave. The last thing I did I shot on the battery for about an hour or so and the battery still registers a full charge. I'm definitely thinking about buying another one. They sell themselves actually. Right now I have the DVX battery, and two "three hour" (read about two hours) batteries and the standard 45 minute job. All together I can shoot for about ten hours or so. I had to email Jarred and tell him how cool these are. And yes I too used the key chain.

I'm glad to see others have received their battery quickly. I was just wondering, how long does a battery stay good for? The ones that Jarred sent me in 2004 are still in the mailing box that has never been open. Does anyone think they will still be good or will I have to trash them and take my losses?

Li-Ion are funny beasts. Great batteries but there's a couple o' things one needs to know: they SHOULDN'T be stored long term at FULL charge. If you were to STORE a fresh Li-Ion battery at FULL charge at 30°C it would lose something like 15% of its capacity after a year, which can't be regained; i.e. charging it to MAX would only be about 85% from what it originally was able to hold.
BEST to store them at about 40% charged, and cool (fridge is ideal, but cool is fine).
There's more techno stuff, but that's the abbreviated version! :)

I doubt it, no.
You should be still perfectly okay with your 2004 ones. They'll still work fine.

yeah they arnt full charge. as for the contact thing we use gold plated connects just like panansonic does... your battery shouldnt loose power when shook, one of your contacts musta got bent. look in the little gap and take a look.
