Hi,

I'll shoot a French short titled "Oeil pour Oeil" ("An Eye for an Eye"), a revenge story, at the end of July 2006.
The casting is, for a part, composed by the one of Gaspar Noe's Irreversible.
Oeil pour Oeil will be shot in Paris. I'll use the DVX100. It will be a mix between Stanley Kubrick's and Gaspar Noe's cinema.
The poster (not the final) :

All I can say, that is the short is a mix between Irreversible (the revenge story and the master shot shooting) and Eyes Wide Shut (the look topic, the aesthetic).
After that... I'm not Noe or Kubrick, it's just a way to follow !

Looking forward to seeing such an interesting mix... Irreversible was highly dynamic, and Eyes wide Shot is the right opposite...(Comparing their aesthetic values & mise en scene...)
Poor Monica Bellucci ;) I keep wondering how Gaspar convinced her for that role!

The poster is not bad, but I think the texture of the face is a little too smooth, a little too "Art student"-ish. It looks like a first year 3D modeling face, no texture, no tone.

Good luck on the flick, I like the name.

Thanks for you message.
There is no 3D.
It's a reel photography of one of the mask used in Oeil pour Oeil.
All the poster has been made on Photoshop.
But it's just a teaser poster made by myself. There will be a final poster made by a professionnal after the shooting.l

hi Frederic,
After watching your demo at your overlookfilms website, I got what you mean by mixing Gaspar & Kubrick... I have seen them both in your frames; Gaspar as form, Kubrick as substance... Great music by the way...
