They're on their way...mine just turned up! (I'm in the UK.)

First impressions are quite a bit better than I thought. I'd been using a soft Portabrace (I think it's a DV4) bag which this chunky bad boy kicks into touch. It looks and feels quite a bit sturdier than what I'm used to. Plenty of nice little compartments for batteries, leads etc. Overall, a very nice item to have. Well done Panny.

I thought we could maybe convince Panasonic europe to give us barrys new book for free as an excuse..what you guys think about that idea?

OK mine has just arrived!!!!!!

Let me tell you this to those waiting for it to turn up.

Its a beast of a bag. A real mutha of a bag, and it is free. These must be worth at least £200 to buy. Add the battery on top and we have been given £330 of free gear from Panny.

Haven't got mine yet. Looks good from the photos.

The logo on the front looks stitched. Does that mean it's take-offable when the thread is unpicked?
 
Personally, I think Panasonic have been very generous and there is no ground at all for asking for more goodies. The Kata is a first-rate bag - my only worry is whether it will be accepted as hand luggage when the new regulations come in - it is 6cm too big in one dimension.

If you want to push Panasonic in any direction, might I suggest we get them to improve Mac support e.g. for firmware upgrades, and FCP support for Native Mode. And I wouldn't say 'no' to a firmware upgrade to the camera that changes its arcane clip naming system.

Anyway, I think when you others receive your bag you'll be very pleased - can spend a happy hour on 'prep' filling it up with camera, batteries, toothbrush, and other essentials!

My supplier (large, well established) in the UK removed the vouchers for the freebies and registered them to their address. In order to "make sure that all their customers got the free items" which they would then forward on . This however leaves me in the situation of having to chase them for when they have arrived and they are being somewhat uncommunicative when I ask if they have arrived. As an aside question, Is the warranty card and the voucher for the battery and bag the same thing because i couldn't see the warranty card in my box...?

I dodnt say that we got nothing from panny, but i think after all the waiting barrys book would be a nice way to say "sorry".

If you compare the prices of the ntsc modell in the states and the prices in europe(without taxes!) its way pricier here, so i feel that they could make us feel better with another gimmik!

Come on, we are the 750 first european rats testing it and pay a lot of money for it, so pleeease panna, gimme barrys book, cause im so broke!

Very happy it looks and feel pretty solid so it's providing good protection for My camera. I hope it's as waterproof as my old Lowepro AW/DV smaller but been able to lay on the grass for 4 hours in constant havy rain and was still dry inside. You can carry lots of goodies in it at the same time Like my Lumix, Pag light C6 and of course laptop which I haven't got....yet ;)

...Battery and bag was delivered to me UK from Germany...And Yes I was waiting for it a little bit long but finally !! Of course very surprised when found delivery note in my home :)

I even fear to leave the house, cause i really wanna get it, sick of going around in the city and do shoots alone, with my great pelicase...feel like a bodybuilder...brrr..come on postman!
 
I'm still waiting for the battery, which is sat at a depot at T.N.T in Oslo.
They have failed to deliever for some reason, they are completely hopeless.
The bag looks great however so thanks for the photo's.
In regards to the battery I contacted panasonic and they have been great.
Gave me the promotion number and generally been helpful.
So it's not all bad news. But, now I'll soon have two bags.

harrr..london, oslo, whatever, but nothing here in berlin..gotta wait till monday, then id like to start calling the promotion team..i was one of the first to subscribe for the promotion, which numbers have you been guys?

I am wondering if just few guys wee lucky to get it and they are out of bags again..oh jesus...hope thats not true, hope they would hire a nice person like jan for panasonic europe, they deffinitly have to improve their information strategy!
