is there anything one should know about shooting a computer screen in 24p and 60i? i want to use it as part of the background in an interview for a documentary and also have shots of the actual screen at certain websites. what is the best way to get a clean shot w/out any of those skippy lines? probably a easy question, but one i do not know the answer to. help please.

Hi accidental A,
Easiest way is to use your syncro scan. DVX100 has a special shutter called "syncro scan" to shoot computer, tv screens...
Press the shutter button once on your camera.
Press the speed sel button repeatedly until you reach shutter 1/60.3( pass the 100,120,250,500,1000,2000 etc) There you go, record the monitor...Do not forget to switch your shutter back to normal values (100,120 etc)
Now you can also change syncro scan shutter to several speeds depending on your needs. Press menu--->CAMERA SETUP--->Syncro Scan change the shutter speed to desirable level.
For 24p recording it is the same basically, but your preset syncro scan speed is 1/25.3 instead of 1/60.3

thanks for the tip volcano

per your question - abbreviated version:

seattle WTO riots years back - looked like a guy the cops thought was an anarchist causing a ruckus - took a couple shots of pepper spray, billy clubs, grenades that spew rubber bullets. eventually got a
"sorry, but a bad day to be in the wrong place" sort of apology. accidentally was an anarchist that day and forever will be to some degree for the rest of my life thanks to the policia. not in the physical "f@#* s*%$ up" mentality, but in a "lets ruffle feathers and see whats really going on" sort of way.

thats part of the reason why i bought myself the 100B - want to make people think.
