HVX Macro insect footage and more !!

Ok people .. i just got the hvx200 today for our new production co ,and so i went out and did some test footage .. and i am head over heels in love with this camera !... So i shot some macro shots of bugs and some other nature shots .

I apoligize for the crudity of the test I didn't have a tripod with me and the hvx isn't the best hand held .

I added some organic effects and music it to make it less boring .

and sorry but this footage was shot in sd mode i don't get the p2's till next wed .also most of it is in 24pa accept the end which is in 60i cuz i forgot what mode i was shooting in .

anyways I hope you enjoy the fruits of my impromptu labour today .

Man that was cool, what kinda bug was that at the beginning? that thing looks wicked! I never thought about shooting sd on this camera, looks like I should give it a try.

actully everything was stock , we don't even get the redrock m2 adapter for another 6 weeks , and to give you an idea of scale that first beetle was about the size of an almond .

well i have gotten a lot of people asking what i use for the film flashes ... and the short answer is i use film flashes .. the long well ill just repeat what i have told another who asked the same question ,basicly what i did was i have some stock footage from artbeats.com of film clutter that a friend gave to me , in final cut i found certan film burn outs and flashes that i felt worked organicly with the music and image . then i edited them to the length i wanted and i placed them above the video layers i wanted to transition together . Next step was to change the blending mode you can choose any really depending on what look you want but worked best for me was switching the beldning mode of the film clutter from normal to add. this gave the best effect .i think the only way to get a really good organic feel is by using stock footage of weird film effects .The same process was used in the title sequence for seven , or the NIN video closer ,also chris cunningham loves to screw around with effects like this , i really think he was a pioneer in this feild .

there are many ways to get other cool effects for example if you take some super 8 tri-x film and you go nuts and paint it and drag it through dirt and shi* . Then you let it play on the projector while your recording on digital . you can get some very destressing disturbing effects .

my next goal is to try and make hvx footage look like a high def version of super 8 kodakcrome 40(recently discontinued on its 40th aniversary sadly). though that will take some serious experimenting .

remember the key to coolness is layers ,blending modes and textures and of corse color

Finally some SD footage from the hvx200. I also don't have any cards yet. Your footage is as interesting or more than a lot of HD footage I have seen here so far.
