Music Video with Letus35 (yes I'm a nerd)

Seriously, this video has become some what of a cult classic amongst my friends and family now - its really awesome!! It is a cool music video, very spontaneous and entertaining.

Remember coaching at Wakeham park for the CCISP? I took some time between college classes to take pictures of everyone playing dogeball, remember me?
I just saw this post and almost died laughing!! I'm kinda miffed though, because if I knew you had an adaptor at the time I would have picked your brain... are you doing any video projects this summer?
 
That was great; for messing around; you nailed it. Totally fun and some of those shots looked very cool with the shallow dof
 
Lane - Yeah man, of course I remember you... I got the adapter early April. This summer is full of projects as always... Videography, graphic design, and flash web design ARE my job. So if I want food in my belly and gas in the car, i gotta keep making videos.

Sonic Freak - the white background is actually the same wall that I'm in front of in the Jenny video. If you're refering to shutter speed i think it was set at 120, maybe 250.
 
hello Cory,

just got my dvx, would love my footage to even remotely resemble your video. couple of questions: which lens did you use with the adapter? did you need any supporting rods? also, does the cheaper version of the letus35 give you an inverted image, hence the difference in price? sorry, i am completely new...

iglun - Thanks alot... I used a canon 50mm 1.8 for the medium and wide shots. For the close-ups I used a Vivitar 28-80mm 3.5-5.6 on its Macro setting 1:4x.

Supporting rods are not a must but they are recommended and do help. I personally do not have them.

Only the Letus35 Flip and the Letus35 Flip enhanced will give you an image right side up. The other versions do not have a flip feature as well as some other enhancments. (larger GG and better GG mechanism, Swappable metal mount that has Canon FD and Nikon AI mounts)

will try to get that adapter now. last question: do you use the canon manual or autofocus lens and is there any difference in the way you focus and zoom using the letus flip?

Great stuff. Very funny.

I can still remember watching the cheerleaders at my school dance to Tommy TuTone circa 1982. That was better, but this was still darn good. :)

I use the manual lenses... I'm not sure if you can use the autofocus lenses. If they will fit, you still have to focus them manually. When you use the Letus FE you set the zoom and focus on the camera... then leave it alone... and use your 35mm lens to zoom and focus.

For a good time, for a good time caaaallllll......

That was a funny video, excellent look also. I'm a newbie, and would like to know the caverage costs of the lenses for the adapter...have dvx100a, and I'd love to get that look!
 
need your help, Cory!

just got the letus flip and am very confused. how do you know when its alined with the camera? also, the front piece is not attached to anything and is constantly falling off. thinking of using a rubber band to tie it to the camera's handle. and the image is just plain dark and colorless, how did you fight that?

djjmk - The average cost of the lenses range from 15 - 200. A great place to get them is ebay and I've got all my lenses for under 40 bucks... This thread is great for learning about the lenses...

I was looking at the second thread and viewed these two movies:

A week after getting my adapter I went on Spring Break to New York with my buddy. I just had to lug my camera around and shoot stuff... 2 little videos

Im a total noob, they look different to me (besides size). Is it just my imagination or?
 
yeah... "NY.htm" was edited on a PC with Adobe Premiere Pro and then compressed on a mac with compressor.
"newyork.mov" was edited on Final Cut Pro and then exported strait thru compressor...
I think that the footage off the mac looks better and is smoother, IMO.

Good Eye for catching that.
