How many DVDs are released in 4:3 these days?

Hi guys,

Since Im planning on doing a DVD release for my feature I was wondering how many DVDs are released in 4:3 these days. It seems to me the trend is towards 16:9 for absolutely everything and with the advent of widescreen tvs becoming the norm, it would appear unwise to stick with 4:3.

Your guys' thoughts?

Should I do a 4:3 release and a 16:9 one or just stick with 16:9?

Im recording in 4:3, then cropping in post to 16:9.

I appreciate your thoughts and or experiences with the matter.

If you are only going to do one I would suggest 16:9. If you want to do 4:3 I would include that on the same dvd as a secondary choice. I almost will not buy a 4:3 unless it is something old that has no chance of getting a 16:9 release.

I'd still shoot 4x3 and then crop it in 16:9 in post.
