This is not meant to be anything pro looking, but I busted out the HVX when I saw a huge wall cloud start to roll over my neighborhood. All standard settings, 720/30pn, auto iris, auto white balance.

I guess I was impressed because the contrast is representative of what I was actually seeing, as was the color temperature.

Give me a break, it's not that bad. The zoom is wide open! I swear you film nerds just don't get us ENG people.

What a great job of compositing. Looks absolutely perfect!

:-)

Looks like a cold front moved in? We don't get this kind of weather here in Hawaii but from what I recall from meteorology 101, it looks like a mass of cold air collided with warmer air and created a pretty violent squall line.

Some meteorologist or documentary maker doing something on weather will find this footage valuable.

Yep, that's generally how it goes. We don't generally see really hard edges ahead of a front like that though, so it's cool when we do see it.

Here in Northeast Ohio, we have pretty fascinating weather in terms of its predictability and range. We can have temperature changes that range 30 degrees, snow and 90 degrees in the same month, lake effect snow, etc. There is a well-defined system moving in right now too. Caused a lot of drama in Detroit from what I understand.

Get that camera out tonight man, it's gonna be wild! Tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms. Get near a window and see if you can get slow motion or time lapse!!!
