Clip from kids film Nimblingdit... Really good keying/creature interaction.

I'm not sure what a nimblingdit is, and if I ever see one I will probably club it like a baby seal....but the key was fantastic!! Care to share your keying secrets?

And I'm digging this project overall...it was shot very well, the kids seem to be great actors and so far it's better than the "filmstrips" they used to show when I was in school :)

haha thanks Larry... the reason we got a good key is a combination of things... first, we made sure that the green screen was incredibly bright green (makes for a better key overall) and Henry did his magic (he'd have to give more specifics as to settings and such, but I know he uses AE and keylight.

I've seen Brice's raw green footage once before, and the screen was SUPER green and VERY even.

They pull very good keys with the DVX100.

Is keylight a part of AE? I have AE installed, but have never had the time to learn how to use it.... I guess I need to if I can pull such clean keys with it.

Yeah, if you have AE 6.5 it comes standard with it. Its a brilliant keyer, and thats pretty much what we have always used here.

Keylight is the best I've seen, but don't take my word for it-- I don't do much keying.

However, I've taken clips from other people's projects into Shake and used Keylight... I barely know what I'm doing and it came out pretty damned good.

I think Keylight is bundled with AE 7.

Yeah, when we do these "industrial" films we try to make them as much like a short film as we can, with a story, cute characters, and high production value. We spend a bit on them too. I think the budget for this 12 minute film was 3k. Most of that was toward the two actors (I think that was half the budget).

It looks really good, but you should try and match the colors of your creature to your scene. Maybe try and bring the contrast up and the brightness down a little. Now if you're just showing a rough draft, then disregard my criticism. Very cool idea, and I like your shots! Nice Job!

PS: It kind of reminds me of an 80's flick, but I can't remember the name of it.

Briceman, Once again I think the whole thing looks great except I think the kid should be looking more at the creature,He seems to be looking more over his head and out side of that it's great. Oh, I forgot to ask what was your shutter speed. Danny C.

Cool stuff, man! I really enjoyed the performances between the two characters - it felt very natural... well natural if there was such thing as a... what do you call it...? Nim-bling-dit?

The keying looked great as well. Looks like a really fun and interesting project.
