Reviewing footage on a monitor from FS100

Hello. I have the Marshall 7" monitor hooked to the component outs on my hvx. Whenever I review footage from the Firestore, it is not passing through to the monitor. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the HVX to pass the signal to the component outs? I emailed Focus Ehancements and got a contradictory answer, but their main response was "contact Panasonic." I sent Panny an email from their HVX support page, but still no answer after 72 hours. Maybe Barry or Jan (or anyone) could answer for me. I would really like to be able to review footage on an outside monitor. Thanks

I too have sent the same question to both Panasonic and Focus and have not gotten an answer. I sure would like to see playback in my 7 inch as well. If that were the case I wouldn't have hours of footage with dropouts, I'd have brought out the FCP capture setup until Focus fixed the problem, which it appears they did.

Jan has responded to this issue before.

The HVX does not loop through from firewire to the analog outputs because it would overheat the circuits.

You can record the firewire to a P2 cards and then watch that out the analog outputs.

Hey Anders, thanks for the response. If you could direct me to Jan's response that would be great, as I had searched quite a bit before I posed the question and couldn't find anything addressing it.
I am aware that there are many things that I could do to review the footage, but all of them are quite cumbersome and inefficient, and most of them would negate having purchased the Firestore in the first place. I admit it does seem odd to me that I can play back to the camera's internal monitor from the port and that doesn't overheat the circuits.

One thing gets lost in the conversations, there is what we'd like to have in the box, and there is what the engineers fit in the box, they are not the same thing. The box has limits, our desires don't.
