Anyone have a RedRock Follow Focus yet?

So, as of now, the follow focus can not be had for under $500. That's really too bad because I could have sworn I was told that the price at release would be under $500. I guess I waited for nothing and will get my indifocus. Oh well.

I'm really impressed with how nice they look. If we own M2 do we get a discount?

Existing Redrock M2 customers get a free lens gear.

Regarding the intro price - up until June 1st we offered the *complete* kit for $495, which included the lens gears.

Right now our focus is to deliver these bundles that include three lens gears. The majority of users want to use the microFollowFocus with their still (slr) lenses so we put together that package.

We will eventually offer a standalone microFollowFocus once we've filled the orders for the bundle.

Thanks

Sounds like a great deal. What is the ETA if I order one today?

looks like I missed the deal:crybaby: Anyway you can still honor the deal for an m2 user and future micromattebox user?:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Okay, got it. I'm pissed I missed that June 1st deal. Wish I had known about it. Will there maybe be a bundle deal when the mattebox comes out? The mattebox + follow focus bundle at $495 price?

Noah - sorry about that. We advertised it and had a reserve list for 4 months!

The free extra lens gear is still good for M2 customers.

Regarding a bundle deal for the microFF plus microMatteBox for $495, uh.... let me get back to you on that :)

There should be some full reviews on the microFollowFocus coming for DVXUser soon (written by users, not Redrock). They are super popular - flying off the shelf right now - so there is a lead time - about 3-4 weeks for new orders.

When will the microMatteBox be out and price? Will you be offering a package with the microFF? Im extremely interested if the price is right!
Cheers

All I can say is that we used (2) Redrock Micro Followfocus units on (2) redrock M2 kits for a short film last Sunday and it worked flawless. 1st and 2nd AC had it easy making their marks. We had one long dolly shot that was pretty challenging.

Build quality, price and most importantly performance is what these units are about. Setup was incredibly easy.

I'm trying to post pics to the thread and I still can't figure it out. Can someone pm instructions, Ill post one of the two camera setups. The website for the short will have a very detailed list of all the equipment we used.

regarding the microMatteBox (that's the official name) we hope to have it available by late summer 2006. No public details yet, but it is shaping up very nicely!

PS - we will be showing all current Redrock gear (and some new stuff) at Cinegear this year. We will have our own booth and we will be in the JVC booth

Stop by and check it out firsthand!

Cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you said it does not work solely with HVX200? Also, in your indie bubdle M2, do I need to purchase anything else besides that package to use the M2 on the HVX?

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify:

We will be releasing a lens gear specifically for the HVX in about one month.

the microFF works with any lens that is properly geared.

Regarding the M2 Bundle, for the HVX you will also need the shim kit from us ($35) and a step-down ring (82-72) which we do not supply. the step-down ring is about $9

haha :)

Well, I will probably be buying an HD M2 in the next few months... :) Speaking of which I wonder if there is anyone in the bay area with an M2 and a nikon prime set that would rent to me... hm...

Hi All,

Update - we now have the gear for fitting the HVX camera's lens. It also fits with the DVX camera lens, Z1, and FX1. Probably more but we haven't tested it with all.

Available in our product catalog - it's the "D" gear size

Would be sweet if you had a complete package eventually... Rods, M2, FF, and Matte box. I"d be in for that one.

We should have some new bundles up soon - the full kit (ff, mb, M2) will have to wait for the microMatteBox to launch in late summer

Thanks!

Brian
