.i took it hard, i did it my way, i did all the mistakes, i paid for it , i learned not to make them again, i learned to hear for more experience people who invented the world ( the cinema ) again and again , the regullar stuff of young arrogant shi* , exactly like you these days .

Ooohhh, I feel it coming... Yes my friends, it is time for Jeremy to bust into song:

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on
and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as i know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
Now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

Peace man.
why ,are you a green peace police or what, trying keep people not to shoot in desapiring species? :-)
this is a shot gun thread , so we shoot

Gorilla,

I think you have totally missed all of the advice being offered to you. You argue with Exile/Oleg, but let me tell you, take one look at his IMDB credits and you need to realize he has truly been there and done that. The people offering you advice all have been there and done that to varying levels. You have made award winning movies, fine. But if your shoot environment was you and your brother, then you have not one clue what goes on on a "real" film set. There are people here that do. My last suggestion to you is this:

Why not accept that there are many many people out there that have significantly more experience than you, listen to what they say, ask questions if you don't understand, and then say thank you. Not run off your list of credits as a way of covering your lack of "real" experience. (BTW, I'm not talking about me here...I still listen and learn on a regular basis and share my real-world experiences as I gain them.)

hey what do you know! first shoot with wireless hotspot ive ever been on! woohoo! im so not doing any work tonight. uh, yeah, i wish.

vidled - no ramen noodles here, they're called "maggie two minute noodles" here, but i was trying to be culturally relevant for the Americano's.

"I mean I wish I didn't have to be on the camera for every shot too, but no one else is capable enough yet." - Gorilla

Sorry that just made me giggle. What about those ASC guys I keep hearing about?

Gorilla have you worked with any pro camera people before, or been on any bigger sets? Im not ripping you off or anything, Im seriously asking, it sounds a bit like you dont really understand the workflow/methodology of big sets. Also, do you have any of your work up anywhere we can check out?

15,000 worth of GEAR??? I think i peed a bit...

Anyways, better go, extensive make up is nearing completion (anyone ever notice how LONG it takes makeup, and then we get 15seconds to wire an actor??? its like some secret society is testing our patience :) )

cheers.

i didnt mean asc guys per se, but any pro camera person. the way you worded that statment worried me. if you havent been on any major film sets how can you decide that isnt for you? all you're doing is cutting out the insight of people that do this for a living, which is clearly something you hope to do.

i dunno, you seem a bit closeted in your views, like "this is what ill do it with, ill do it my way, and itll rock"... thats no way to better yourself. but i look forward to seeing your clips, providing my connection can handle them.

It's sooooo good (sorry audio people, this is a film discussion running joke that has been going on for closer to a year)...

Back to the topic: Yeah, mics are cool

Tons of traffic here today. My 10 minute break turned into a half an hour just to catch up on these posts.

Got nothing to add :lipsrseal but figured I would chime in....for no particular reason.

ummm I posted the link to my movie that people were asking about. You asked, I delivered....c'mon people get with the program! :kali:

Just kidding. but seriously it's up. I'd love to hear your opinions :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I think that it looked good, a bit video like at some moments, but the camera movement and the lighting were very good. I thought that the FBI people should have been played by older actors, but with that exception it was a good project.

I think I've got to agree with this. Particularly about the FBI people looking too young. It's always a problem when you don't "buy" the characters because of the actors' age.

I think the video look was most pronounced at the very beginning and in the underground parking structure. It seemed to be a bit muddy which is probably the reason it had the video look.

The pacing seemed pretty good and it sounded good to me.

You know the thing about the lighting is that it was all natural without so much a even a reflector EXCEPT for the shots inside the room and that was done with a desk lamp pointing through two coke bottles filled with water. Red food coloring in one and Blue in the other.

Also, the entire crew was me, my camera and I. That's why I like working small because it's easier to communicate with your cast and crew and get exactly what you want. Sure if I shoot an epic someday I'll probably need a large crew, but generally speaking, I don't believe small movies need large crews.

Question: Is there a way to tell when mkh60 was produced by the serial number?? I wanted to know when the one I have for sale was made.

Hey Mumin if you are looking for a quicker turn around on selling that mic you should try consignment deals at places like Gotham Sound. They will post up the pictures, handle the sale, and everything for free (minus 3% charge card fee if the buyer charges). Serious sound pros go there and your mic will probably get snatched up quickly.

Most people in here are shopping in the sub $500 zone.

Good luck
