Oh no! I have to extend my trip to New York, so I will not be back in time to make it to the Summer Shack, darn! I can't make it Thursday night... :(
 
I can meet next week but not Thursday. Can we try for Wednesday the 14th? Same time same place?

Hello all,

I am an hvx user from NYC but i happen to be in town for a conference and I am available wed evening. I just finished shooting a feature on the hvx - you can see the teaser trailer at http://www.americanstandardthemovie.com/teaser.html

I have quite a bit of experience with the camera, settings, P2 workflow etc. I have also done a film out test. If you guys would be interested in welcoming a foreigner (from NY) let me know - I will always go where there is beer :)

David, I will be there. I found your post on exposure practice invaluable BTW. Seth, you are welcome. I have been checking out your website over the past weeks with interest and would love to here more about your experiences with the camera on set. That leaves Ken and shoreline from the cape to check in. Look forward to it!

Of course, I'd say anyone with an HVX or interest in the HVX is welcome, bosindy, thanks for you're comments on my posts on exposure. Looking forward to the meet.
 
Jim, Ken, it was great to meet y'all last night... I like the idea of doing a little, short, 1 day shoot+edit project that shows off some unique HVX abilities, like variable frame rates and the gorgeous look. With two or three HVXs together and my FCP editing system we can have some fun, experiment, and learn some new things. It was cool to finally experience the Summer Shack after hearing so much about it over the years. Cheers!

It was great meeting you both and enjoyed our conversation. I didn't realize until getting to my car that we had been at it for 4 hours. Look forward to meeting again and putting the camera through its paces.

Jim, David...what fun, we'll definately have to do it again. Next time let's meet in the real bar. I think you guys were trying to get me drunk...as I was drinking for an hour before i found you!! I away on a job next week but maybe we can plan to do something the week after. It would be nice to put a little experiment piece together and try to use a lot of the functions of the camera...put it through it's paces.
