Where to my DVD100A repaired?

Hello all,

the audio recording on my DVX100A is far too quiet. Doesn't seem to matter if I am using internal or external mics. I almost always have to go in and normalize or boost the signal in post. Very annoying. Of course I've had the camera for about three years so am pretty sure it's out of warrenty (how long is the stock warrenty? I need to dig around and see if I got the 5 year or something). In any case, I'd like to get it diagnosed and repaired. I am located in Minnesota. I have checked the Panansonic website but it is absolutely no help so thought I'd check with the experts.

From looking at the site, this seems like a fairly common problem. Is it? Any self repairs or anything out there? Thanks!

DId you try the panasonic site:

This is where I went when I needed to find an authorized repair / service center to have my DVX cleaned. It worked great for me- there is a service center in Seattle- not to far form me.

Hey 235, how much did they charge you for that? Are you talking about Robb's Repair in Kirkland? (That was the only one I could find near Seattle)

Yep- Robb's Repair. They did a great job with a quick turn around time. I mailed them my camera, and was able to pick it up later that week when I was in town. I don't have the exact cost, but it was around $95 plus tax for the cleaning and alignment.

Thanks for the info. I've got a few addresses now and will check them out. Has anyone had this low audio problem with a 100A?
