HVX200-avail & best price I've seen anywhere

I worked with Barb, @AVS http://www.avsupply.com She is great and very knowledgable. They cater to the professional and have been in business for over 35 years. They couldn't have been more helpful or fair with me. Good people to do business with!!

had a exact opposite experience with AVS - barb promised to sell the cam and P2 card at $5600 (if you guys remember the AVS thread a few months back). I waited for 2-3 months patiently.

Then suddenly they increased the price (even tho I pre-ordered before the price increase) - they only option they gave was pay the *new* price or cancel order...

I cancelled - and was so put off by the whole AVS fiasco :kali:

And it also made me realise for the first time the actual cost of owning a HVX... P2$... $5700 could have gotten me mere minutes of HD footage...

Then HD100 came back into the picture- B&H had a NAB special price of $4950, then JVC sweetened the deal with free AB batteries promo..($1250) so knock another grand off.. so effective price of HD100 came at $4000 ish... it was a no brainer - went with HD100 - fantastic image/built.. feels real good...!

so in a way AVS helped me make a right decision :)

AVS is and was the best. Barb is such a cool lady and not just a saleswoman... she is actually a person too.. ahhh. Very pleasant to talk to.. and she actually calls you back.. follows up and is very straightforward and genuine. Here deal at 5600 including the P2 card was and probably is still the best deal out there. SHe will also take care of people and is looking to build relationships with all of her clients...

AVS is the sh*t - I bought my HVX there with 1 4GB p2 card way back when for 5600 - glad to see that they are still the best

Well, I got my HVX on tuesday at 9 PM, by 10:30, I was in Olympia, I recorded in 720p from the knowledge I gained on this board, by 6AM, we had press packets, by noon the video was showing on a plasma display at a press conference. Color me pleased! I'm really happy with the output of the HVX, I had the opportunity to use DV and 720pn, and they've both been excellent so far, although there's no doubt that the HVX is light hungry in a serious way. I did get an odd error when I first used the DV side, something about reel tension which caused the HVX to lock up and power down, but a power cycle made it go away. I hope that's the last I see of that. Anyway, AVS delivered as expected, and I'm happy with my decision.
