THis is a poorly editied ( i am not an editor just a DP) cut of the first part of a two scene comercial.

The commercial is for BPR parts, a Appliance repair and parts company.

The story goes the fridge kicks teh bucket, and the milk goes bad, guy drinks milk, gets pissed, ( and this is the second scene) then proceeds to go nuts, and has the fridge Wacked.

thats the 17mm wide. I bought it specifically for that effect. i hate doing it in post it never looks as nice.

i felt really disturbed by the sounds that actor makes... his yawn and when he spits the milk out. really made me cringe! ooooaw.... i feel dirty.

but that has nothing to do with your DP work

OMG Timur that was so funny! Yeah, the editing is pretty rough, but this looks like it's going to be a fun commercial when it's finished. Can't help but notice the loss of light in this footage though. Feels like it should be brighter? Was that an intentional choice or a result of the adapter?

Good job all around though, please post the finished commercial when it's complete.

Im downloading the clip now. In the monitor it was very bright looking so maybe the compression darkened. windows media has a tendency to darken also.

It looks great... I hear it was raining outside when you shot this... good job selling the shot as a bright morning!

It wasnt the adapter. we shot it with the early morning feel. infact like briceman said, it was raining that day. Infact it was too bright i irised down the DVX and the 17mm lens i was using.

AS am atter of fact some people were put ff by the Vingetting. i shot it that way. i used my little "ringlight"
trick for the shot with the Fridge, and Aram and i lit the kitchen to have a dark with a central pool of light feel. its actually not vingetting from the lens, its the lighting.

WMV's do darken and muddy footage too much. it much crisper in DV and in Mpeg compression.

i have no knowledge in editing. i have tried i cant do it. i just make pretty pictures.

it looks like in one shot when it cut to the other shot ( 0:16 ) there is a space of black. you should fix that and it would be better. and I think you should slap some 16x9 bars on it... maybe thats just me.

oh and you say "action" in the begining of the clip :)

Ideas for sound effects :

birds chirping, maybe low key "jazz" music.

oh this is just a quickie to show off the footage. i have no intenations of editing it.

yeah it looks really muddy. You should put up a .mov or something.
We had a Lav and a Shotgun recording sound so im sure when they drop the shotgun channel the rain sound will go away but hopefully the birds will stay. I cant wait to see the final edit though. I didnt really want to start a gaffers reel but after this and bone hand... I might have to. We totally sold the morning look in a nasty rain storm.

That was... absurd.

I just tought "oh, some SG35 footage. This must be nice." Then it was so stupid and so random that it made me laugh like a maniac. I was just asking myself: "why the heck would somebody do something this stupid?... and what's wrong with that actor guy!?" Best laughs for a long time.

I like random things.

Oh, the last shot was pure DVX wasn't it? I know it was.
