HVX and Dalsa for Black Eyed Peas project

So I thought you guys might be interested in a new high-profile project that coupled the HVX and the Dalsa Origin in an all greenscreen environment.

www.instantdef.com

A long format, new media kind of project for Snickers directed by Jesse Dylan and produced by his company Form. I edited the animatics and was on set a couple times during the weeklong shoot. Most of the inserts were shot with the HVX - the dog, gold teeth, object like the boombox, etc. While the majority was the Origin in true 4k.
Check out the trailer which, I'm told, is attached to XMen 3 in theaters.
I was impressed to see how seamlessly the HVX footage matched the Dalsa stuff. You could buy and own an HVX for the same amount it would cost to rent the Dalsa for 3-4 days.

And they wonder why theater attendance continues to drop. If the audience wanted to watch commercials, they could just stay home.

( And, yes, I do make commercials for a living.)

if im not mistaken, this is an online thing - not a theatre thing

similar to The Hire right?

theatre attendance continues to drop becuase ticket pricing continues to rise and home theatre systems utlilizing on-demand type tools becomes more popular. not becuase they show a trailer for an online film before xmen 3

people dont go to the theaters because there is to many small theaters. Im only go to the big ones and if it comes a movie i want to se it only stays there for a week or 2.

When i get a bigger picture in my living room there is no need to go to the theaters.

I just don't go to movies anymore mainly for the people.

I second that. When I did see xmen 3.. which sucked in comparison to the first two.. a guy got a cell phone call and actually began to have a conversation until my wife went crazy barbarian on him. She's even more militant in theaters than I am... I'm just there to be the big fat white guy who takes on the savages...

The other thing that gets me about movies is the popcorn. I can't stand the smell and I HATE hearing people eat this crap. I grew up in England where eating standards and ethics seems to be reveared like the holy grail.. and certainly a lot of these movie going people were raised by wolves...

Ranting ranting... so much fun!

This is an online thing. Like BMW Films.
Only the trailer is showing in theaters.

I havent gone to the theater in a while and it has nothing to do with the people. It has everything to do with the ticket price ($10.25!) and the cost of gas to get me there in the first place. If I bring a date to a movie, after snacks and tickets, I'll spend almost $35. Screw that.

Ironic how those high English eating standards didn't carry over into oral hygiene.

I go to the theater on Friday (opening day) morning if there's something I really want to see. Personally, I hate kids, and they're in school at this time. Also, most people are at work so the theater is always about three quarters empty.

Unfortunately that is true over there... but for me, I brushed and flossed like a madman when I was a kid.. and when I got to the states. My dentist told me I have really good teeth and gums like time I went.. and when I told him I was English... he told me then I have perfect teeth... lol

Also though you could say that if America has so much advanced medical and fitness sciences.. why is everyone so friggin fat over here... NOt the same when you go to England... europe or anywhere else. Americans are the fattest by FAR.... leaps and bounds over the samoans...

interesting... She has a bit of a butta face for sure.. but quite the body in that nurse's outfit...

I hate to be a critic, but that was all complete crap. CGI is rot. That was the worst commercial I've ever seen. All of these people rot.

Well it would be the worst commercial I would say ya, but it is not, so I would say it has some story flaws, and their acting ability is being tested. But as a mini series, it is the best graphics work I have seen.

In my opinion, it looks cool, but gets old real fast. It's kind of like watching a never ending commercial.

I loved SIN CITY, but of course it had an interesting story and great actors. A "look" will only get you so far.

I thought the HVX footage blended nicely.

You see that's the problem with the new generation of retards nowadays...you go to the theater for the experience, no one likes annoying people in the theater, sticky floors, and high ass prices, but you know what?...suck it up! Saying you hate the popcorn and people eating it, dude you must not get out too often...

Theaters much like film itself has a history, digital is the new wave but please atleast appreciate what led to the DVX creation...go out, pay the money, shut up, watch the movie then kick the ass's of whoever annoyed you during your experience...it's why we love film...

Oh and by the way I got no clue why the Black Eyed Peas choose to sell out even more, I like there past and present but damn this is getting out of control...
