This footage is not for the faint of heart! You have been warned!

This stuff will make grown men shiver with fear!

I won't tell you what did this right away but if you know what type of work I like to do, you may get close.
The most amazing thing is during this entire horrific encounter, the focus stayed sharp until the very end.

OH MY!! That's crazy footage! How is your baby after all that? I fear that happening every shoot.

I had the usual please God if the camera is ok, I'll go to church every Sunday etc. The camera was still on but it was out of focus and turning the focus ring did nothing. So now I'm telling God I'll become a priest etc if only my HVX would work again!

I turned it off and turned it back on and......it worked just fine. Course, I told God that I hadn't given him a start date for my taking the vows and going to church so, I think I'm cool on that one for a while. :)
 
id be worried if that was cement. but it might as well have landed on a bed of pillows.

a camera made of glass could survive that drop. Scary, nonetheless, but not horrifiying. Ive done worse.

As for the footage. I don't think I can eat dinner now. Man that just makes your hart sink. I'm glad it all worked out ok
 
Okay, so here's what I'm imagining -- we've all seen plenty of Kevin's footage, we know what he's tangling with, so -- what exactly was it that knocked the camera over? Musta been something big, if you turned tail and ran from it, leaving the poor HVX to fend for itself... :thumbsup:

You're on the right track. :)
There was actually fur on the rubber eyepiece when I got back to the camera. :)
I've been doing allot of just setting up the camera in a good spot, hitting record and coming back to see what I got. I got a little more than I planned on this one. :)
 
Great footage! However, I thought I saw some noise in the shadow where the camera...OH HECK! Who cares! My condolences.
 
Damn, thats exactly what happened to a client of the hvx rental shop over here in berlin one week after the pal model was released: less luck to them: the screen was damaged hard and it had to be repaired-3 weeks no money to them.

About the image pappas-i really like the states, everytime i think it a big bunch of fundamentalist christs, something like that is coming up..LOL!

Anyway, go and pray Kevin..otherwise, who knows what happens when you go next time to the wolves...!

Ben can not type right now, as he watched the footage and is now temporarily blinded. I'm typing this for him. He has forbiden anyone else in the studio to watch it.
 
Pappas' "Jesus/HVX" art might be the funniest thing I've seen or heard on these boards. I really did LOL.

After seeing the footage (and before reading all the other posts), I too, made a pact with God: "If his camera is okay," I said, "I'll make sure I get a bigger head for my tripod, clean the lens more frequently, and never leave it out of the case over night again (you know, just in case of an earthquake)." That's how much I was pulling for you.

MY DVX did the EXACT same thing. Except mine took a nosedive into a wood floor.
Focus even the focus was sticky after ward too. But shes fine now. :)

Goes to show how roobust the P2 format is. ( it looked liek overcrank 60P)
