how to make money?

to fund my films....

i want to start getting a lot of money, i know the old "by working hard you can get money".
but i need money now!!! hahaha :P
i really want to be able to get actors and the things i need.

any ideas?
 
for the type of quick money you're talking about, you're gonna need a ski mask, a shotgun, a fast car....

exactly how much money and how fast are we talkin about here?
 
Lots o' peeps get married in June and July. Go sell your services to the wedding coordinators at some local churches.

Do you have any demo work to show them on DVD?
 
Well, I did a few shorts and showed them to the right people, and now I have a full budget for a project this summer :)
 
i'm actually gonna get some money because of a car accident settlement... and was just gonna use that to pay off my new car. But i guess the investing would be pretty good. i'll have to start looking into stocks.

If you wanna make some ca$h shooting weddings, then you should price the entire thing (wedding coverage, reception coverage, edit, master to DVD) as a package. The price should be determined by how much time you think you will have to spend on it.

As a general rule of thumb, no one does all that work for anything less than $500 minimum. Your earning potential can really escalate with the right connections and tools to market yourself.
 
If there where an easy answer to this question there wouldn't be a never ending series of seminars and books on how to get films funded, but even after going to them you are faced with reality. It doesn't come quick or easy. It takes contacts, professionalism, maybe a good business plan (depending on your contacts) and a lot of luck.

Sorry, but there is no easy and fast way. However, if you're just looking to make money and then use that money yourself, there are a million ways to do that. Just don't get married, because your wife wont let you spend much of it on movies. :)

EDIT: Actually the best way to do this is to get married....to a wealthy woman, but that brings us back to the luck issue.
 
I hear that when truckers pull into a truck stop they tip really well...

Plus you can advertise for free in bathroom stalls up and down the freeway...
