Top Three Comedies Of All Time...

I think most of you will probly disagree with me because I already realize that like 86 percent of people in this world think a certian way ..and theres a small percentage of people who think differently, and im glad I think differently. But the movie WAITING with ryan reynolds in it has become one of top 3 funniest films I know of. Watched it over 25 times past couples weeks. The movie is flawless, If you have a good sense of humor, it is incredible. No im not just talking about the "penis showing game"..That doesnt even scratch the surface of why its funny, if anything thats not really that funny. It has a perfect cast, perfect dialogue and jokes. Me and my coworkers quote many different scenes from it daily and laugh our asses off all day and people think were crazy, but it is a masterpeice. I already know 86 percent of u will say "that movie was horrid! stoops to penis jokes to get cheap laughs!" .but thats simply not the case, watch it more and realize how overall funny the entire movie from start to finish is...welp thats my little post!

I would love to see which films strike our collective funny bone here at DVXUser. I know it's excruciatingly hard to do, but try to list your top three (in order).
As for myself...

#3 Airplane!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080339/

The ZAZ team at their finest. I actually got to screen this one with Jim Abrahams, something that I'll never forget.

#2 Some Like It Hot

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053291/

Wilder's direction was in a class by itself. There are not many actors in film history with the natural gift of comedic timing that Jack Lemmon possessed.

and, finally...

#1 Blazing Saddles

Mel Brooks' opus. As funny as funny gets. Have your doctor on speed dial, because you'll laugh yourself into stitches upon viewing.

3 would have to be History of the World Part I
4 would of course be History of the World Part II (Let's see who picks up on that)

Some like it hot might be my favorite movie of all time. Ever. That's saying something.

Before Mel went funny bankrupt in the late eighties, I use to always wish that he would do just that...after all, there's plenty of history to go around.

3. Mel Brooks The Producers (The Gene Wilder Version). The fifteen minute opening scene in Max's office is a masterpiece of comedic writing and acting.
2. Woody Allen's Bananas. Funniest pre credits sequence ever. Hilarious music score.
1. Raising Arizona. Still the Coen Brother's best.

WTF?!

Vacation,
Dr. Strangelove &
Young Frankenstein
...
All down in the 50's!!!

For Christ's sake...I watch these list shows just to piss myself off.

I'll probably tune in tomorrow just to see how much of a train wreck the top 10 is.

Off the top of my head...

X-mas vacation (rolling on the floor)
Airplane
Office space

EDIT: oh, I'm pretty fond of Happy Gilmore too. I know, I know. Dr. Strangelove and some of the older ones are great, but I'm talking about what makes me spew milk out my nose.

Ghost Busters 76 omg!!! Young Frankenstein!!! And then some of the unmitigated **** that is finishing ahead of them?!?

Princess Bride
Holy Grail
Team America

Runner's Up:
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Bad Santa
Anchor Man
Caddyshack
Spinal Tap
3 Amigos

At least Caddyshack was #2. While Animal House was really good, #1? Napoleon Dynamite better than Ghost Busters and Young Frankenstein, gimme a break.

Don't get me started on the top 20!!!

I had to leave the room I was watching Bravo in, and listen from my office
to keep myself from putting my poo pooin' fist through the wall. :furious3:

WTF?!

I wouldn't trust anyone who wouldn't be somewhat upset at a Best Comedy List that has The Wedding Singer above Blazing Saddles...or There’s Something About Mary & Shrek above Airplane!. And let us not forget Pee-Wee's Big Adventure & Napoleon Dynamite following close behind at #'s 11 & 14 respectively.

While I'm ranting...
So there were a hundred spots;
Plenty of room in their eyes to make sure such "comedic gems" as Half Baked were included -
yet no room whatsoever for even one spot set aside for the Marx Brothers or Abbott and Costello?!

these lists are heavily biased IMHO. Wedding Singer funnier than Blazing Saddles? Pee Wee's Big Adventure? South Park??? Between this list and

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=49868 <<< that list

they are more biased towards the modern films and actors just so they can kiss their ass because they are poular here and now .. Brad Pitt of Bogart? WTF? The only reason they did that is so they could have a chance at kissin his ass. they don't go by quality of acting, filmmaking and such...

come gather around people where ever you roam and admitt that the waters around you have grown, and soon you'll be stripped to the bone if your time to you is worth saving, then you better start swimming or you'll sink like a stone, for the times they are a changing?

Comedy = getting upset about what other people think is funny.

There's a list at sports illustrated.com about the 15 greatest college football plays of all time. Seem like about half the plays took place in the last five years--probably around the time the writer started watching sports.

Rocket Ismael anyone?

Dr. Stangelove?
