CitiDISK™ HD - FireWire (120GB) for HVX

Does anyone know anything about this CitiDISK™ HD - FireWire drive?

I am getting a little nervous about putting all my eggs in one basket... the FS-100.

Maybe I could get two of the CitiDisk drives for almost the price of one FS-100?

The company seems to be in Cypress, CA (near me) so I am going to ask them if I can come talk to them right away. I have an order in for FS-100 now, but I don't know if I can trust that device to be the only major storage device for my HVX on a 25-day location feature shoot.

Don't...Redundant recording with p2 is the only way I'll use it...

I've been using an FS-100 for about two weeks now. I love it. I wouldn't ever shoot without the advanced features like disk and file repair built in. CitiDisk, well, I fear it's goign to be half the price AND half the quality. The folks at Focus have been building these devices for a lot longer, and have a ton more out there working in the field. The FS-100 is very worth it.

Ben you still love it, even after all the issues you have had with the device? How has the new device held up next to the one that was causing all that trouble?

BenB, does the FS-100 limit in any way the frame-rates you can record at? I understand that 720p/24pn is not possible to record on the FS-100. I wonder why?

I plan to overcrank or undercrank about 20% of the shots in my feature -- a very high percentage. Is adjusting frame-rates easier or harder with the FS-100 vs P2 cards?

thanks
