Any HVX owners in Denver?

I visit and shoot in Denver and elsewhere, but I live in Durango, Colorado. I'm expecting to get my first HVX in a week or so. Until then, it's still BetacamSP, Sony PD150 and the usual broadcast stuff.

Broadcast TV since 1983.

Keep in touch!

I don't own the HVX, but have borrowed one. I lust mightily; saving up my pennies for one.

I am located in SE Denver (Greenwood Villiage-ish) and have had an HVX for a good 2 months now - I only have a 4GB card (and a Steadicam Merlin that doesn't want to support the HVX; if anyone wants to tell me how to get it to not fall apart suggestions are welcome!), though I have conducted 18 interviews with the cam, finished an 8-minute comedic short, and am trying to find more excuses to use it! I never want to touch tape again (even though I have to upload about 20 hours of it first from unfinished projects on my old camera). Even for a relative newbie in the professional digital realm the video looks fantastic. Glad some other locals got it too! Good luck with your projects; maybe we'll bump into each other!

I'm in Colorado Springs and am currently in the market for an HVX, but can't seem to find any in stock anywhere. Anybody got any ideas?

They're all out of stock. I've got my email on the notify list though. They're probably my best bet.

Yesterday I went to this MotoX park. It was fun, Never shot MotoX before, had fun, used the Cine V, and 720p/24p 60fps. The settings it uses on Cine V are amazing, the master p must be dropped to like -6. makes those reds POP, but not blow out. Did not get slo mo down, but It was good stuff.

I have only had my camera for 2 weeks and only used for 3 times :) Dont get much to practice, but I am trying to find stuff to film. I went to the colorado mills to shoot the Xgames Sk8 park, and there are gone.... man..

Aculag - You may want to try calling Armato's Pro Video out of NYC - they are reliable and not especially crowded with HVX orders (they only had 4 in Feb.) and if you ask them personally you may get a good quote (I got way less than on their website). The NY store everyone talks about is B&H, but maybe you'll have more luck there. Hope this helps!

As a Colorado Springs HVX buyer, I couldn't have been more happy going through Armato's... ask for Alan.

Just thought I'd keep the thread going. User's group might not be a bad idea.

I haven't yet pulled the trigger on the purchase but doing a cam test at Film/Video (The House of Dean) here in D-Town tomorrow (Thursday, June 1st).

An editor-by-day, dark windowless bays may give way to happily lugging around a 200. Good times......

I'm in Boulder with offices in Lafeyett and Denver. I picked one up from GW Hannaway & Associates in Boulder last week. Great price. I rented one from Film/video last month to shoot 3 HD :30 spots currently running on ESPN. 2 at 1080i and one in slo-mo in 720. Amazing. The spots fit in with the big national boys beautifully. This camera makes me look good.

Or as we've called him for the last twenty years, "No Deal Dean". In an affectionate way, of course... :)

Colorado Springs here, but no DVX...yet. Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up in the next two months. I'll probably head to Garden of the Gods to test it all out!
