ok... but what about EBAY?

Honestly, no.

Because the tripod is junk and only worth 20 bucks tops. The case looks like a no name brand. And personally I wouldn't put a 3k camera in a case that you don't know the quailty of. And lastly I couldn't find anywhere on that page that indicates any sort of warrinty.

It's listed as a buy it now for 2,800 but if you factor in the rebate the price of the camera from a authorized dealer the price is about 3,000. Only 200 more then this one. And you get the factory warrinty.

Hope that helps.

I know and I'm with you. But hear me out, even if the accesories do not sum up $10, it's the camera that matters and it would still be cheap. Wouldn't it?

Opinions people; I'm not crazy and I know it is probably a dumb deal but maybe someone here has a positive experience out of Ebay. We just need to wait and see opinions.

:-)

DO NOT DO IT!!! The difference in money will end up being outweighed by the hassle of the transaction.

Its probably a lot safer to buy from an individual lister on ebay rather than an ebay store. Granted, you won't get a warrany, but you'll probably be saving some money. If it comes down to getting one cheap, just get a used 100A on ebay. (They dont even have any individual listers for the B) Dont just assume thet they are a trusty seller becasue they have feedback at 234 at 100%. See what their transactions are. Make jure the guy hasent sold 200 rubber bands to get his feebback rating beliveable for someone to buy a $3000 camera. If their feedback is good (98%+) then you should be fairly safe. I bought a GL2 on ebay for $1700 and the transaction was as good as any online store I have purchased from. A few months later when I decided to get a DVX from Evs I sold my GL2 on ebay.

There are two things to make sure before you purchase the camera:
1. Check the hours, anything up to 300 should be fine, though I've heard of DVX's getting 1000 just fine.
2. Make sure that whoever you are buying it from isn't a professional; if they are that means its probably been under very heavy use, even if the hours arent all that high.

Here's a reasonable listing I found:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Panasonic-AG-DVX-100a-DVX100A-24p-Mini-DV-Cam-W-Case_W0QQitemZ7621899796QQcategoryZ107937QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

If I was you though, I'd wait and save up and just get a new 100B from Evs.
Hope this helps.

You seem to have your mind made up. Why are you asking us for our opinions, then replying with "hear me out.....I know it is probably a dumb idea but...." Lol. Are you dumb enough to "know" that it is probably a dumb deal and still do it.

I guess someone's gotta buy those cameras.

Exactly. Common sense man. It's your money, so do whatever you want.

I personally would NEVER buy one of those "new" package deals off ebay. Anything used from an individual seller with a high feedback rating, however, is fair game.

It's not worth the $200 you save.

Well, one other problem with ebay is the plethora of scammers. A little over a year ago, I placed a bid on a used XL2 and lost. The day after the auction close, I got an email saying the winning bidder didn't come through and since I was the last bidder, asked if I was interested -- I immediately said yes, but my spidey sense kicked in when his reply said he would be in the UK on business.

Having been a web developer for 10 years, I thought I wouldn't have been so naive. Fortunately, I figured it out before I was had. I've been limiting myself to just the cheaper accessories, than the big ticket items.

Holy S***

Holy S***

I had the same exact scenario...It was a DVX 100a, very cheap. I asked if I could 'buy it now' and they agreed. First off every word in the e-mail was misspelled by them , I know we all make mistakes, but please this looked like a 5 year olds writing! And he says "the camera is in the states, but I am (I forget the country at the moment), away trying to set up a business." My instinct kicked in and didn't feel right about it at all so I told him I wasn't interested. Listen to this, he kept telling me he was insured with E-bay and even went as far as sending me 'paperwork' from e-bay letting me know that he was legit. Yeah right, thats's why he made up an excuse as to why he wasn't a member of e-bay anymore. Then I get the e-mail stating that I Owe him money for the purchase when I never agreed to buy it. He kept e-mailing me asking if I was interested or not and that the transaction would be safe. I finally had to send him a professional but firm e-mail stating not to contact me anymore...Enough said, I went to B&H and I couldn't be happier or more well rested at night! Be careful and good luck...

Its almost as bad trying to SELL something now. My last few auctions have been trashed by "bad" buyers, IE: Nigerian scammers who aside from me saying US Shipping only still think I can ship to Africa...Best part is eBay still charges you :o unless you relist and sell it immediatly then :o

Its a pain.

That actually just happened to me. The second offer thing. LOL. Thanks to you, I quickly knew what to do.

Ok guys thanks, I went safe with B&H. I'm sure some of you are gonna be happy about that. :-)

Thanks again.

Yep very happy.
E-bay is a good place to buy things if you keep you eyes open and use your brain to buy things.
Another cool thing to do is before you send your money get the person phone number and look them up to see if it's really them.

Also don't buy anything from anybody in romania

all those stores sell you **** that u dont need or crappy ****. Like shitty tripods and cases and lenses....its just marketing..usless.

Yep that's the trick. There was a guy selling a Xl2 for a crazy low price and I knew he was a scammer so I toyed with him for week. it was great

DO NOT BUY FROM SUNSHINE ELECTRONICS!!!

under no circumstance should anyone deal with them

They are jerks, they offer no help and they lie.

I dont need to get into my personal experience with them

Just know that you should NOT have anything to do with them
no matter how sweet the deal is.

Trust me
