I am flying to Pensicola Florida, then driving a moving truck back to Bay Area Ca. I have never taken this large of a road trip. I am thinking that it will take 5 days...??
Question is... do I bring my dvx or do I bring my cheapie camera?

just take it with you every where you go. and lock up and park where you can see your truck at all times

If you're in a hurry, it would be painful to take the DVX because you won't have the time to really use it and it's going to make you crazy. If you have plenty of time......then by all means take it.

hey i know i'll fly out to meet you and we'll film the event, and i do mean EVENT! TRAVELING WITH ME WILL BE AN ADVENTURE YOU'LL NEVER FORGET!

Kimko, thats what frightens me about you. That you can make simply traveling from point A to point B into an adventure. Do I really want to find out how adventureous that can be?... actually that does sound pretty fun!!

Kev, I'm driving to ATL in a week. It's me and 2 friends, and we're going non-stop. I'm estimating a 34 hour trip. I wish we had more time, but we have to get our butts there asap!

If I were you I'd take the DVX. When I drove to Kansas a couple months ago, I saw some pretty cool stuff, and I wish I had my DVX with me.

Yeah I hear ya Tom. My wife is trying to put her foot down, and not let me take it. But I thought about it, I bet I'll see some stuff that will make me kick myself if I didnt bring it.

You will likely have a much safer trip with the DVX. Think about it. When disastrous events occur before your very eyes you NEVER have the DVX with you. Tell that to your wife and I'm sure she'll change her tune.

I did a crazy 2 week road trip from San Jose to DC and back a few years ago.
Most of the time was spent driving and snapping a few pics here and there, and reading "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac.

You may not have much time for video, but if you do have some time you can shoot some great stock footage for future movie projects. I wish I had thought of that before my trip.
