to gloss, or not to gloss?

Has anyone compared the "glossy" screen macbook pro to the "matte" screen?

The description apple gives about what it does to colors is laughable. How does the gloss change the color space?

The glossy screen just enhances the blacklevel, as the matte screen diffuces the incoming light. Dark colors will look more saturated because of this on the glossy one, but the downside is that reflections are rendered in focus, and can indeed be very annoying.

My friend just got a MacBook (which is glossy) and it is definately more prone to glare, but as Anders stated the blacks look very nice.
