Colors on DVX100A LCD more saturated than DVX100B LCD?

My new DVX100B displays video in more subdued tones than my
DVX100A. Is this normal? I'm talking about the fold out LCD displays
as well as the EVF eyepiece displays.

ACQUIRED IMAGES ARE OK:
Tested actual acquired images with a Gretag color chart and both
cameras are printing colors to tape that are pretty close (though
not exactly the same as I ideally would have hoped).

The color on the LCDs are clearly MUCH different. Sort of a bummer
because it will be hard to calibrate real colors during a shoot.

Is this a general observation of the group presuming that some of
you have both cams?

I know the 100B has entirely new LCD specs.

Any workarounds? Have I just got a too-old 100A camera (350
hours of use) or something?

Thought I'd breath new life into this thread instead of starting a new one...

The other day I took my DVX100B to work so I could hook it up to the DVX100A
we use there so that I could practice syncing time-code.

Anyways,

having the cameras side by side I noticed a big difference in the LCD displays, just as "bonafide" mentions above.

The colors were way more saturated on the DVX100A than on the "B".
Even at preset WB levels and at the same LCD color adjustment levels.

But...

The biggest thing that bothered me though was that the DVX100A's screen was considerably sharper than the "B's".

The cameras were at identical settings...I triple-checked.
Focus, Iris, scene file settings, zoom, etc.... all the same.
Both cameras had the same shot framed up.

My co-workers checked the screens as well,
and all agreed that the "A" was sharper.

???

We all know that the "B's" screen should be sharper, according to the specs.

So what gives?
Did Panasonic lie to us?

100A v 100B

100A v 100B

This is an interesting thread. On 16-5-06 I posted '100A v 100B' in the hope that someone had done a camparison between the two cameras. Some kind person took the time to post the differences between the two cameras (which I had already read on the DVX site) but I was hoping that someone who had experience of both would report on their findings. However, I have since had the opportunity to compare the two models side by side and there IS a huge difference between the LCDs and Viewfinders on the two cameras. I would much prefer the 100A (no, that is NOT a typing error) as both the LCD and Viewfinder 'appear' to be sharper and have better colour saturation than the 100B. This becomes more important in very contrasty situations and on a bright, sunny day I found the 100A Viewfinder and LCD much more pleasant to use than the 100B. Why this should be I have no idea, but it is significant enough for me to want to buy the A instead of the B - in spite of the other improvements. Looking forward to reading other people's findings on this thread!
Regards,
JAGM.
