Hey everyone. First off, a big shout out to everyone on this site. Logging hours here has become more important than sleep lately. I'm just getting into the film thing. I've been a big film buff for a while, but I'm ready to give learning the craft a go. Thanks to this site I've decided to go with buying a dvx100a over taking a workshop somewhere. Not to say that a workshop isn't a good thing, but the general consensus I've picked up here is that hands on experience and a few books/dvds will be better than a workshop if those are my only two choices. I can't really argue with that since when a workshop is over, all you have is the experience, but buy a dvx100a and I have that as long as I want it. Anyway, thanks! So is anyone here in the nashville tn area? I'd love to get involved with some other dvx users and see what other people are doing in the area.

We are located in Knoxville,TN and are very intrested in meeting up with others who share the same intrest.

Wonder if you guys in TN would like to start up a grp meeting every so often to get together and talk about the camera and work on projects together and such. If anyone is interested let us know.
 
well, i've moved on. if anyone is ever in the honolulu area, that's where i am now. a little step up from nashvegas i must say.
 
Grew up in Nashville but now I'm living in Chicago. I get home quite a bit, though, and if you get any luck with a user's group I'd love to pop in when I'm visiting. Good luck and drink a beer at Tootsie's or Robert's for me!

Nice, suggestions do you all have as far as what the meetings would consist of? Also, what kind of distance are you all willing to travel and how often a year? Throw some ideas at me and we will see what we can work out.
