Well guys and gals, school is forever over....

After the culmination of many years of being a miserable and very busy student, my school life has finally come to a close.

Yesterday, I had my thesis defense, passed with flying colors and now have a Masters Degree from New York University. I never, ever want to go back to school ever again. I can't believe its finally all over.

My sister just happened to be in the city (coincidence) and by 11:30am we were celebrating with some cold pints at an Irish Pub about a block away from Grand Central. It was a very good day.

Mr. Hudson...you once banned me so I could finish a paper. So thanks. You had a hand in this. To the rest, you have been distracting the hell out of me ever since I became a DVXuser member and have made working on my projects near impossible. But, its been a great ride and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Add to this complete de-compression stage...today is my birthday. I am 35. Not so cool about the age thing (I'll save that for another thread), but I am getting all sorts of cool things. A stack of Eastwood Western DVDs, a step down adapter ring for my Vocas Mattebox so I can finally use it and a signed DVD of a play I was in. Good times. Good times.

I just figured I'd share with my dvxuser family...

Take Care-

Rick
PS TC, your birthday was not too long ago. I noticed you got a directors cut of Battle Royale. I figured if TC likes it, well then it has to be good. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and watched it on my train ride home yesterday. Excellent flick. Very entertaining.
PPS Im now going to go out and get drunk!

Congratulations! I sometimes feel like I'm too old to be in school (seriously though, i'm gonna be 25 this year) but the most important thing is just doing it. now good luck finding a job!

WOW! That's awesome, congrats man! Happy Birthday AND Graduation!

I was thinking the other day- I've got a year and a half left for my bachelors, and another year after that if I go for a masters. I'm very jealous that your done.

Glad you enjoyed Battle Royale, now that you're done with school, you'll have some time to read the book. It's even better, if you can believe that.

Thanks everybody. TC...1 year? Lucky (my best napoleon dynamite impersonation)...it took me 3. ugh.

but hey, in a year and a half, we will be alums. Good Ol' CSUN Matador alums!

Woo! I Cannot wait for that day.

Okay, I've screwed around enough this morning, I need to study for finals (my jealousy just raised 10 points.)

Congrats, I guess. I know how you feel. Looking back at my "education" I wonder if it was worth it. The money, the time, the energy. Congrats again.

Thanks Guys. You know, 76 people have viewed this thread and only a handful of well wishers. ALL RIGHT! THATS IT! I GUESS IM GONNA HAVE TO POST A VIDEO TO GET MORE POPULAR AROUND HERE!!!

Mr. Hudson...you once banned me so I could finish a paper

I remember this self-requested ban. Glad I could help.

What's your Major (If I may?)

Congratulations Rick. Now that you've got that bothersome school out of the way you can get on with making some movies. :)

Congrats...Hpoefully every day will provide new lessons for you, so you see...You never really get out of school you just stop showing up, then forever after, it comes to you...
Good job, wishing you all the best!

Congrats, man! You're probably stinking drunk right now as well you should be.

Was the thesis defense rough? Always at least one committee member who wants to show their ass one last time before letting you go. But once they sign that piece of paper all is well with the world. Good luck!
