New FigRig Sale/Trade

I'm selling my Fig Rig, I just got this maybe two weeks ago, not a scratch on it guaranteed. Of course you know these got for about $310? shipped from Manfrotto, I wanna get atleast $280 shipped for mine, I guess I'm more of a tripod/dolly guy.

I'm also willing to trade for some stuff that I need, or want, if you got equipment you wanna get rid of or something, let me know, I might need it. Grazie.

Why are you selling your figrig? What is it that you are not happy with. What would you like it to do.

Its not really my thing, I thought I would be able to do well with it, but then I realized that I'm more of the Dolly/Tripod/Glidecam kind of guy. Shooting with the Fig Rig for me is no different than shooting hand held, maybe its just my useage, but I'd tried many possible angles, watched the video about 5 times, and its still the same. So I said, okay, I'll just let it go, someone that likes this stuff.

You know, if you want to ask him what he would do to better the FigRig, you should make a thread in the Cafe. Don't intrude on his thread with useless comments and questions unless you plan to purchase it. It's not very cool of you, but so far FilmMakerr has been patient with your questions.

So much anger on this site. Wow.

As a figrig user I found I was not happy with the way the rig worked and have begun a process to create a handheld rig that would make users want to use it.

As a real artist and someone genuinely interested in fixing real problems feel I too have been patient with manufacturers and now am creating a rig that shooters like FilmMakerr and maybe yourself would REALLY use.

Learning what people like and dont like equates to progress for everyone.

Thanks for you input and sorry FilmMakerr if this bugged you.

PS for the right price I may purchase your rig to modify it for myself if you are in
LA please contact me.

that's cool. but dude, do you really have to list ALL your gear in your sig? i think you forgot to mention all your cables, desk, chair, paper clips, etc.....

just kidding. :)

but seriously.......

Through my experiences on many of these everyone always wants more info on gear and pc setup. Just putting it all out there. As someone that knows how gear affects gear compatibility it's always good to know what your dealing with.

I make my own custom cables BTW as partner builds recording studios...

I'm sorry if I came off angry. It wasn't anger, just annoyance I suppose at the blunt way you went about asking for information in a sales thread. I did read that you were planning to modify it and I wish you all the best with that. Maybe I'll purchase it when you are complete. I admire that you are doing research for it, but there's a time and a place.

Good luck,

-Kegan

No worries and when it's ready you all will know when and where to get it. Just giving you all a first chance if it's for you

Hey guys, its all fine, Canadians are so caring =).

Jsinicropi, you're right, the problem I have with it is both, the handle, and the weight. When I hold it, it shakes, I don't see the point of it, the reason I bought it was to get smooth shots without having to use a dolly or a tripod and that isn't happening. On top of that, unless I buy an extra remote, I can't use this alone without having a crew member push "Rec" with the Dvx controller while I'm holding it, which is a total rip off on why they would sell an equipment like this without a remote for $300 bucks.

They actually sell a few different ones with controllers depending on what camera you have. I have the DVX100B and use the stealth controller and the FPI focus iris controller on the other side.

I will take your issues into concern for my own new design which should make you smile.

Thanks
