Colors not as vivid on TV

I've got footage that when watched on my TV has really really nice bright greens. When watched on the TV they are sort of faded out. Is this normal? What can I do in post to make them brighter and more colorful on the TV? Up the contrast a bit more?

Is it just your TV, or is it the usual result when playing back this footage in general? Consumer TV sets will vary drastically from unit to unit. Have you calibrated the TV with bars as best you can?

When I see my Adobe Premiere Pro 2 screen on the TV the video looks the same. When I render it out and watch it on my PC, it looks the same. When I watch the rendered completed video on my TV screen and its blown up to full screen however, it looks slightly faded, and it is coming out as straight DV AVI. So something is weird somewhere. The colours between the tv look pretty much the same using colour bars, which is why if I see Adobe Premiere workspace on my TV it looks great. Rendered just comes out funny on my TV.

It sounds like whatever AVI codec you are rendering in is causing some saturation to be lost... I have no expierience with Prem Pro though.

No, no compression, straight DV AVI. 2 minutes is like 688 megabytes or something.
It looks fine on my PC and when I see Adobe Premiere Pro on the PC, but once its exported as 720x480 and watched fullscreen on my PC, it looks good on my PC but not on my TV. Compression isn't a problem as when I view the whole thing in Premier Pro 2 it looks great on my PC, but its only a quarter of the screen cause its not automatically shown fullscreen.

do you have a DVD player on your PC? compare the image on the TV to the image on the PC and see if there's a difference. PC monitors and TVs are not the same and i mean they don't display the same. plus as mentioned above not all TVs are the same either. have you calibrated your TV?
