Ragtag Productions just completed our newest short film (7 minutes) for the NYC 48 Hour Film Project. We pulled HOLIDAY FILM as our genre. And so we made this Christmas holiday film about the gift that keeps on giving....shot on the DVX100a, edited on Avid Xpress Pro. Enjoy.

Just like my wife's parents.

The dog is Samwise Gamgee and the cat is Frodo. *sigh* Damn Peter Jackson.

The dog bit was one of the required elements:

Character: J. Splain, window washer

Line of Dialogue: "That was when I was young and naive."

Prop: Photo, drawing, painting of a pet.

Do people find the film offensive?

JUST KIDDING!!!!! I thought it was hilarious, and I NEVER respond well to comedy's. Excellent job.

lol! thats so friggin gross. haha oh man. Why am I laughing.

I kinda thought it was a little long. Seven and a half minutes on one premise is a lot to ask of your audience. Also the acting shifted back and forth between real and surreal. The tone threw me off. You also had some axis problems with the eye lines during the big speech. But there were some awesome lines in it. "Mind if I have a bite of your herpes" Priceless. And the camera movements were really smooth!

Keep in mind all this comes from a guy who just shot a short about mario bros, so , you know, take it with a grain of salt.

Good stuff.

Oh and I didnt notice that it was done with the 48 hr film festival. WOW. That's great for 2 days.

That's an interesting comment about the acting in the film. Most of our films tend to play out like that, in a "fake serious" kinda way.

have you thought about flipping the frame just for the guy's speech? I do that sometimes and it works. It's not perfect but sometimes it's better than having two people looking in the same direction.
