HVX on the Motocross Track - 60p Slo-mo

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I did some more work on this piece and made some better film burns than just the gamma ramps. I am gonna post it later on this week. Also, Im in Utah right now shooting for my show. I should have a bunch of amazing scenic footage when we get back. I'll cut some of that together and throw it up as well. Thanks again. Peace.

The reds are great, tight no bleed. Thats it I'm buying one of these little babes and can't wait to get shooting.

Thanks for the footage

I'm sold.

Well this footage was among the best I have seen from a videocamcorder. If I only had the money... this camcorder would have been mine

What really amazed me was that the version I saw was only 640*360, didnt discover this until today (watched on a 1920*1080 screen). Wonder how the high def footage would look like if the SD version looked this good. (I really thougt I was watching the 720P version)

p.s.

Havent been here for a while (marriage planning etc) but I´m back :)

Maby you could post some frames of the original footage, so that we can see what a great job you did with the CC. This looks great, and it would be very motivating to see what potential this camera has with skilled CC work.

I hope you post it (if you do, thanks!)

Stuff looks great, except that im noticing some artifacts in the reds. Is this because of the quictime compression or is that how it records in cam? it amlost looks like interlaced footage because of it.

other then that the detail is awesome. I read a review a while back that put the HVX in first as far as the features, but was a bit sub par when compared to the sharpness of the JVC model. This proves to me that that it all "minah" (minor for those of you who don't speak Maine :~) and that the HVX is top of it s class.

Anyone out there just itching to write someone a healthy sized grant? anyone?

Jarane , shoot 60p and then stretch the 60 fps over a 24 fps timeline (or 30fps) thats what slo-mo is.

That footage was really awesome. I still have doubts about this camera but if all footage looked this good. this would be the only thing on my mind.

nice footage! what software did you use to ramp the footage?

Just did it in final cut. It's not really a "ramp" persay, i just cut the first part of the shot and sped it up 400%.

I think its mainly to do with the compression. Its actually an mpeg4, probably not the best quality, but all I have is compressor and I was in a hurry to get it up. Im not noticing any artifacts in the full rez version.

Nicely done. That is great-looking footage. Come on, Lotto! Those clips actually made me just check my bank balance for an HVX.
