I posted a compilation of my first outing with the HVX200 for a couple of hours. I did three dumps from P2 to G4 on location. That process worked flawless and it's a whole new era that's for sure. I loved the P2 process, it's very similar to when I went from 35mm film to DSLR's, just needed to rethink the workflow's, however I would not want to go back. Someone that's good at flow charts needs to design a few that correspond to different types of ( IT ) needs and work flows. I am going to figure out a file structure. This is not much different then the types of film work flows you had to deal with when you had bins of takes and racks of reels.
The camera performed so awesome under such low-light conditions, that it was nice to get a rich vibrant image afterwards. This HVX200 has such a nice organic feel to it's image, not overly electronic at all. The HD100 has this this look somewhat too! The HVX latitude rocks with a nice hold on good dynamic range with extreme exposures. You'll notice that nice hold with the sunset shots. I didn't have much time to look at the manual at all, so I left it on F1 factory mode and brought the master ped down slightly. I could go on and on with all that is great about the HVX200, however I need to get back to other projects. If someone has written a good paper on ( IT ) work flows, link it please.
The HVX200 footage is in this thread link which goes to the Clips section:
