Downconverting HD to minidv

I have to get my HD projects burnt to DVD and I don't have a copy of Compressor. Don't ask. Final Cut Pro won't downconvert without it soooo, I need to use the feature in the camera where you can downconvert footage on the P2 card to standard MiniDV.

Anyone know how to do this? I can't seem to find my manual. If anyone knows a link where I could download a .PDF manual that would be extremely helpful too. Thanx

Related Question?

When you do the dub to MiniDV from the P2 card, it seems to always go to the tape squeezed. Is there any way to make it dub to the tape in letterbox? Or, is there a way in FCP to make the Squeezed footage letterboxed? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

Final Cut WILL downconvert it. you can pick whatever resolution you want your sequence to be, you'll just have to render it... or you can export it to whatever resolutions you want. if you're downconverting it, no problem.

yes, in final cut just put the clip in a DV NTSC sequence. (the easiest way to do this is to go into "easy setup") make sure you do this first before dropping the clip into it.. it will automatically resize it to letterboxed, non-squeezed.
