CineForm Aspect HD 4.1 now with HXV200 MXF support - in beta

I have been promising Panasonic P2/HVX200 support, and now it is ready for beta testing within Aspect HD. I'm looking for HVX200 owners who want to try it out. You don't have to be an existing CineForm customer, all you need is the Panasonic camera and Premiere Pro 1.5.1 or 2.0. This is a 15-day trial for non-CineForm customers and a free upgrade to Aspect HD 4.0 users.

Are you ready?

Now typically when I offer a public beta I post a link for which we get many hundreds of downloads and almost no feedback. We want feedback. So this time you going to have to email me to request the link, that way I can email you questions at a later point. Is it a deal?

To learn about the new P2/MXF support within Aspect HD 4.1 you can read about it here : http://www.cineform.com/products/hvx200support/hvx200.htm

So play with the new stuff please send me a private message through this forum with your email address. Tell me a little about the types of projects you are going to use the HXV with Aspect HD or Prospect HD, and tell me the shooting modes you are most likely to use.

Thanks.

Beta users, in the playback setting window -- please turn "De-interlace while scrubbing" off, the default was wrong. I would want you to think the image was soft. The default for this control will be switched off for the release (on the progressive editing modes.)

We have some European beta-testers already, so yes it work with all variations of the HVX200 camera. The Aspect HD software also includes rate conversion with audio pitch correction for those shooting 25 base that want to edit on a 24p or 23.976p timeline.

Is anybody testing it with mfx files from firestore instead of p2 cards. I ask this cause the raylight had some problem with the firestore at first, but they fixed it very fast. So i just want to make sure its working nice with firestore aswell.

Not that I know of. However I would love Firestore users to give some feedback on the Aspect HD or Connect HD beta. My guess is if there are any issues with Firestore it will be the audio handling. All I need to see is the directory structure of a Firestore with HVX200 media. Could someone with a Firestore do a "dir F: /s > c:\firestoredir.txt" (F: is a guess at the firestore volume) and email me the resulting file.

Thanks.

David, glad to see some support for the hvx! I am thinking about buying one, that is, if the SI camera does not come out soon! Anyway, I am almost done cutting the feature, and I still don't have an update with Batch Capture that works. Do you have any idea when I may have an update that allows for batch capture? thanks for the help.

Obin,

Send a reminder on the old trouble ticket, so see whether there was a recent build that fixed that Varicam issue (I can't remember anything since NAB.)

HVX support will also go into the next build of Prospect HD, just what for the beta users feedback on Aspect HD first. Of course the next build of Prospect HD also supports CineForm RAW for the SI camera, so you will have lots of camera options.

Please, for now, no more beta requests (unless you own a Firestore -- we still need some people to try that out, or live in San Diego local testers can be helpful.) I very interested in feedback from the current beta testers. I have a report of a user not being able to use HDLink multiple times directly from P2 media, and issues with P2 Viewer after running HDLink. Any others experiencing this? This could be a simple file lock issue, just need to determine if others are experiencing this before trying to find the bug.

Thanks,
