My family has papers going back to Kahn too. That dude did get around. seriously. RAping and pilaging across the whole 2 euroasian continents. i think half the known world is related to him some how.

i wrote Turkish but technihally a Tartar from Crimea. I am 100% pure crimean, My mothers side looks like The mongols, very asian features dark skin, my fathers side, while still crimean, is somehow fairer in complexion, but still with asian features. I however look like a jew from brooklyn. Go figure.

I'm Persian, My father, mother, and I were all born in Iran. I guess you can say were part of the 50% of people from Iran that are Persian, the rest are semites, and "other".

That'd be cool if everyone could chill and be one race (or at least co-exist as them and me) but I'm too proud of my Irish heritage to let-go.

So, how about Irish and then a bunch of other people ?

Me = Mostly black Irish and Scottish but my mothers and fathers last names are both English I think. (Stanley and Shepherd)
Then black dutch
and some american indian

= stocky, hairy, dark haired (now premature salt and pepper), dark complected for a white guy (black Irish) who's sensitve (irish) and has a bad temper (irish)

oh .. if you don't know the term black irish or black dutch means dark hair / darker or olive skinned white people so black irish = collin ferrel ... so for me think collin ferrel

I am 3/4 Lithuanian and 1/4 Polish.

My parents immigrated here about 30 years ago, so people tend to find their accents entertaining upon meeting them.

We have the Pianist Pederewski in our background somehow.

There appears to be quite the controversy and uncertaintly about the real meaning (or any for that matter) of the term Black Irish.

Nevertheless; seems to be a popular thing to say in North America. (Don't ya hate when people come in a bust that bubble up?)

huh? My bubble doesn't feel busted ... I think I'm using it in the last context "black haired and Irish" and I think I like saying that I look like a fat and bald Collin Farrll ... cuz that's kind of like saying my Mustek 5000
is like a DVX except that it's single chip, has a digital zoom ... etc.

But I don't have any true sense of what "black Irish" means other than dark haired /eyed Irish , and no sense of any nationailty in terms of a connection with a heritage.

We never went to any sort of ethnic parades, or talked about any proud Irish roots or anything.

Just ... "I think we are mostly X,Y, and Z and your Dad is this, that, and the other thing"

... so I'd have to have a bubble for you to burst it, amigo :)

Technically I'm American... and my parents are also, on both sides. Although my last name is German, and my mom's maiden name was also German... hmm, maybe this explains my obsession with sound, and science for that matter...

Honestly I gotta' join the guys who don't see themselves as any nationality though... I don't make it a point to go to Oktoberfest or drink/eat German food... I'm not particularly fond of polka and leiderhosen. I'm always amazed at how people look at each other in nationalities, instead of just some other guy who's also trying to make it the best he can.
