Hey dudes

I am going to Paris and Amsterdam next week and am taking my HVX + laptop - what do I need to provide power to these things? Plug adapter? Power converter? Where would I get them? I went to radioshack and that doofus told me that they don't make foreign plug adapters anymore..

thanks to the max

Check your laptop power supply. It probably says it's good to 240v. Likewise the HVX powersupply.

If so, all you'll need is an adapter. Try a real luggage shop. Someplace for world travellers. They should have adapters.

For France (and Europe in general), you are looking for a plug like this:

- 2 round pins, similar width apart to the US blades. then a ground connecton on both sides (the plug is reversable, not polorized. Also be sure to make sure it has that hole on one side for a grounding pin that some french sockets have.

You need something like this:

All airports sell these in their various shops.

thanx guys,

I didn't see a plug on there for Holland, it's probably just the continental Euro - anyone from the Netherlands can chant in if I am wrong - so I assume my Paris plug adapter will work for my Amsterdam plug adapter then?

damn, i can't wait to get out of the U.S. and relax..

rgdfilms ,
if you only have TWO PRONG devices (no earth/ground), I can send you an adapter.
It's a simple device that you plug your US plug into, and then this adapter plugs into the Euro socket.

PM me your addy, and I'll send a couple out to ya.

Yes, most of Europe (except UK fro example) uses the same socket - except the French may have that ground pin, so have the hole for that - then same plug will work everywhere.
